Bios hacking/modification utilities/FAQ's

Does anyone know where I can find information regarding how to modify my bios? I've seen hacked bios versions posted/mentioned in other forums at one time or another, so I figured that there must be a utility or some reading material that would help me to do this.

Specifically, a motherboard I just ordered autodetects the P4 fsb and only allows certain memory dividers based on whether the chip's fsb is 100MHz or 133MHz. Using a 133MHz chip provides the option of using the 4:5 memory divider and I want to make this divider available for a 100fsb chip (1.8a P4). Thanks!

I found a little program to hack the BIOS in my GF2 MX video card with a Google search. My inderstanding is that the process of hacking a BIOS can be overwhelming when starting from scratch. There can be data decompression and encoding issues, among other things for starters.
