Bios configuration question for ASUS

I have the A7M266 board with the 1.4 ghz t-bird. I used to have bios revision 1004, and it ran great. But now I noticed Asus doesn't have that revision available any more. There are just 1002 1003 and 1005. The problem is when I went to update my bios from 1004 to 1005, Windows XP Pro would not load. I would get an error on start up (blue screen). Maybe it has something to do with the new bios settings. Is there something that I should change in the bios to get it to work with XP? (I never changed anything, I just booted up with the bios defaults of the new revision).
