"Bios Checksum Error"

That is the message that my KT7-Raid gives me. Each and every start-up. I haven't seen it post in two weeks. I have tried to clear the Cmos via jumper and even removed the battery and tried to bend the holder down to make a little better connection. The cpu/mobo/ram I transplanted from one case to another without removing anything. That is why I am wondering what happened.

It does give me two other errors once in a while.

1) flashing cursor in the upper right corner, nothing else

2) In addition to the "Bios checksum error", it will add "INVALID MEDIA IN DRIVE A: INSERT SYSTEM DISK"

Stupid mobo. :|

RMA the only way to go now I assume? Anyone have an email addy for Abit that may work? I get the automated response, hate that.

It sounds like the BIOS chip is damaged or the BIOS is corrupted, you could try to reflash and see what happens, or go and RMA the board.

I would reflash the bios, but it doesn't access the floppy before popping up with that error. Screen turns on and it is already there.

Oh well, got an RMA number. Gotta send it out.

I have an ABIT VH6 and it does the same thing. The store I bought it from thinks I am full of it since it only does it when it goes unpowered for long periods of time.

Did you try popping in a bootable Win98 floppy and then running the awdflash?

This exact same thing happened to me and this cleared up all my problems.

Like I said, I tried with a boot disk and nothing happens. It doesn't access any of the ide or floppy drives. It doesn't post or do anything. I am going to send it out today on RMA.

Oh well. At least they are going to take care of it for me.
