BIOS 15 released for the IP35-E

it's available on all sites hosted/administrated by abit Taiwan.
afaik abit USA is the only abit branch that runs it's own website & consequently it's usually behind - just get used to looking on the abit Global site first.

I'm going to wait and let someone else find out what, if anything, is wrong with this latest bios. They often fix one problem, and introduce another problem. Release 13 was so bad they pulled it from the site, and some people have issues with bios 14. I'm still on 12.

I was using BIOS 14 beta 5 before this, and it seems its a little better than BIOS 15. However it appears the double-POST is back every single time you restart. I'll take my inaccurate temp readings if it means better stability. Also its taking a lot more voltage to reach certain clocks than it did with BIOS 14 beta 5. Not sure if that means the older BIOS wasn't properly feeding the chip volts, or what?

had the same issue with an E8400 and an IP35-Pro, v14 originally showed 127C for my CPU temp. v15 and v16 beta 4 both fixed it.

I just put 14 beta 5 back on, much better. And for the time being, Coretemp is inaccurate for the Wolfdale core temperatures anyways, so having a BIOS that reads the core temps correctly isn't that big of a deal.

so there aren't that many options for the ip35e bios wise. Is flashing the bios difficult? I dont even know how to put the files onto a floppy, and dont have a thubmdrive. bah, i hope mine comes with the best bios.

The best BIOS so far is ether BIOS 14, or BIOS 14 beta 5. I currently have BIOS 14 beta 5 on mine, and am about to test BIOS 14.

I'm also on BIOS 12, double booting is annoying, but it's by the far the most stable of the bunch for me in terms of overclocking stabililty. Bios 14 kept giving me problem and loss of FSB setting and no boots.

Tried 12 - too many issues for me - quickly scrapped
14 - was OK (could not get to 400FSB)
15 was best so far - a bit quicker than 14 and definitely more headroom in my overclock
Still though double booting - cuurrently 370 X 9 with Q6600 and runnig well

You've been able to overclock better with 15 compared to the other ones?

@jared, check out my posts on page 122 of the Abit IP35-E Review thread... @ 11:09pm on 1/18 and @ 3:33pm on 1/19 for a quick refresher on flashing bios with a floppy.

Yes (not a whole lot more but more stable) - with 12 and 14 lots of reboots and instabilities. With 15 I was able to get up to 370 X 9 and been like that now for a few days (Q6600 B3) Lots of gaming time last week end without a problem. I was going to kill the IP35-E and go for the DFI but after Bios 15 I decided to hold off for a while longer

the stickies at the top of http://forum.abit-usa.com/foru...e3be27ddc58f13f97&f=12 should cover you.

Thank you too!

Wow, I finally got my processor today and thought I had just made a really expensive mistake in putting everything together. I'm glad that this isn't actually an issue with overheating.

 Thanks AT!
