Good news Motorola Droid Bionic owners – if you were unwilling, or did not know how to flash an Android 4.0 ICS based ROM onto your handset, you might be interested to learn that according to Verizon, the Android 4.0 ICS update is expected to begin rolling out to Droid Bionic handsets starting from today. Considering that a soak test was conducted last week, we guess Motorola/Verizon decided that it was time to release the update to the masses. We expect that it will begin rolling out in stages so not everyone will be getting the update at the same time, so fret not if you have yet to receive the notification. If you haven’t been notified about the update and you’re waiting, you can head on over to Verizon’s Motorola Droid Bionic support page to learn how to update your handset, as well as what to expect in the upcoming update. If you have received the update, let us know in the comments below on how it is treating you!

I read this rumor early this morning. I haven't heard confirmation from anyone that has actually received the update yet. Is there anyone on AT running a Bionic that has see the update?

Verizon updated the support docs for the Bionic to ICS, so it'll be moving soon.

I think the Lucid is also supposed to start today. For all 10 people that bought one. :p

Isn't the Bionic just the RAZR with a different external shell?

How the hell did it take this long?

The rumor is that VZW was delaying the update to make other, newer phones more attractive.

Some people have posted that they have started receiving ICS yesterday. Looks like it is actually coming out this time. I can't wait!

I've been checking for updates all weekend and still nothing. Has anyone on AT received it yet?

Mine says it's downloading now. I too hope they can fix my connectivity issues. If they don't I'll just sacrifice my unlimited data just to get a different phone. What's the point of unlimited when your phone only has a connection long enough to download 200mb in a month.

The download isn't showing me progress, but it's been going for over an hour and still hasn't completed.

EDIT: After an hour of waiting it is finally showing a progress bar that is moving along at a pretty good clip. It doesn't show an ETA or show the download speed, but my router is showing me getting around 350 KB/s. Let's hope it finishes up soon.

Android Version 4.04
System Version 6.7.246
it's very sweet so far.
Now if the 4g lte doesn't continue to crap out like before I'll stick with Android seeing Google bought out Motorola, and not buy an iPhone 5

My cell connection has been mostly fine since the latest GB patch. I've not noticed any improvement in ICS. Have you tried doing a hard reset to see if that fixes anything?
