bionic commando: rearmed

If there is a demo for one level or 30 minutes of play time I might consider it.

Does anyone else wish they had made a BC for the Super NES?

I certainly do. BC was one of my favorite games on any platform.

Wow, I had no idea this was coming out as a PC game. I thought it was console only. Will definitely look at picking this up. This game was one reason I was considering getting a x360.

I was planning on ordering it, at least until I heard the capcom exec's spiel on why, exactly, the PC version is $5 more then the console version. No stupid piracy argument, thank god.
Unfortunately, his justification was essentially "cause they'll pay it." I don't much feel like paying extra simply because they figure I will, so my only recourse is not to.
Too bad. Looked so promising.

from Kotaku (not exactly the greatest or reliable of sites but I think I'll take their word on this)

Bionic Commando Rearmed is $5 more expensive on PC than it is on console! Oh, the outrage! The injustice of it all! The...oh, Capcom's Ben Judd has an explanation (or, at least, a better one than this). Which is:

I can give you a song and dance about PC digital content being more expensive as a general rule... but nobody wants to hear that crap. I can say this: for the PC version we are planning on uploading some additional PC-only challenge rooms via a free patch so you will get more bang for your buck.

There you have it. More buck, yes, but also more bang.

I've only done a few challenge rooms on the 360 version and you really have to get your timing down to get good times on the leaderboards.

Anyone picked this up yet or seen any reviews for the PC? I figure the console versions will get all the attention and hope the PC version isn't forgotten.

Anyone waiting for the game to be on Steam can forget it.. its not happening.

Actually, I do have some bad news on the Steam front. At the last minute, we've been unable to reach mutually agreeable terms with Valve on BCR, so they won't be carrying it (unfortunately you'll have to get it elsewhere). I won't get into the details but we do continue to have a good relationship with Valve and future Capcom titles we expect to be carried on Steam.

You'll find BCR available tomorrow on Direct2Drive at 8AM PST. Other sites (like our Capcom e-store and Gamersgate.com) will come on shortly thereafter.

Within a few days (or perhaps sooner, just waiting on some package tests), you'll find it at more than a dozen other sites (including BestBuy.com, Nvidia.com, CircuitCity.com, etc.).

I never used Direct2Drive and other download services. Maybe it'll be on Impulse but I really don't know.

got it from d2d. its kinda cool i guess. its pretty damn hard though. i'm stuck on this one boss and i can't figure out how to kill it.

So, $5 more then the console version, isn't available on the absolute largest PC digital download service, and it's got Securom.

Why does capcom hate PC gamers?

Maybe Valve wanted too much.

Maybe so, but capcom definitely hates PC gamers, they promised SPFIITHBR for PC and never followed through, never even started, they were, and have been, 'waiting to get a read' on the number of sales.

Then there's the RE4 port with no mouse support.

The devs have said it wasn't that valve wanted too much money. Haven't actually said what the actual problem was though.

Why can't there be more games like that on the PC dammit... why? Looking at it I can't imagine how much of a blast I'd have in a revamped 2.5D game à-la Streets of Rage with some isometric or top-down view. Anyways, thanks for the heads up, I'll buy it this week-end.

What is SPFIITHBR? 😕

The only worthwhile Capcom port I've played is Devil May Cry 4, that game is awesome and very well ported.

Can you really picture playing RE4 or DMC4 with m/kb? There's way too many buttons to press. Some games just require a keypad, so why spend a ton of time creating a control scheme that will ultimately be unsatisfying and just cause people to complain about the game? It's like trying to play an RTS with a gamepad.

Super Puzzle Fighter 2: THBR

I have no idea what THBR stands for.

Uh.....RE4 didn't actually have many buttons to press. When you're shooting, you're at a dead stop anyway so you need a mouse - and that's pretty much it. Maybe keys for quick turns, if that.

Outside of shooting, what else really is there? Run - which is pretty much useless since you should always run anyway. Use, which you need, but then you can remap shoot to that when you're not in aiming mode since you can't use in shooting mode anyway. Open menu, and the quick knife.

RE4 requires considerably less keys then your typical FPS.
