CNN

Fox link for the neocons that don't believe other news sites

LOL at only Fox making this their banner article on their home page BTW.

So 4 North Georgia men were charged with wanting to make ricin to kill government officials, all in the name of defending the Constitution.

This must be true, since the government never lies <cough>, and everyone blindly accepted that Iran used a used-car salesman to hire a drug cartel to assassinate the Saudi ambassador, everyone knows these guys must be guilty too, right?

Killing government officials with bioweapons? Sounds like some serious terrorism there.....I fully expect everyone to support their transfer to Gitmo and that they be locked up forever without a trial, and we probably need to torture them as well, just to make sure they aren't missing anyone else in the plot. After all, that is what we do to terrorists, right? You aren't going to treat these guys differently are you?

It will be interesting to see the hypocrisy that comes out of this, and how everyone will try to find ways to say they aren't terrorists since are probably old and white.

So there's a plot, they arrest these guys and they'll charge them with whatever crime is appropriate and if found guilty they'll be in jail. What's the problem again?

As far as locking them at Gitmo indefinitely, you should probably ask President Obama who has continued that policy. Seems like the Dems and Republicans are in agreement there. Not sure if Obama has continued the torture policy, but one thing is for sure if he has he is smart enough to not let it get out publicly.

However, if you are unclear as to the difference between U.S. citizens rights and rights of people outside of the U.S., not much I can help you with there since the school systems have obviously failed you.

Lulz, all these guys are within a 30 mile radius of where I am now. Shame I have classes today or I could go down to the courthouse and give ATPN a first hand impression.

Well terrorists don't get trials, right? Or like in Yemen, US citizens were summarily executed. Or in other cases, locked up for years without trial. And in just about all cases, once the government said they "were terrorists", there was no doubt in anyone's mind that they were, and there was no presumption of innocence. All the media reported that they were terrorists, not accused terrorists.

But since these guys aren't Muslims, it isn't terrorism, and they get all their rights. Funny how we have that double standard.

Kind of like the Norway shooting, where everyone claimed terrorism when they thought it was a Muslim, but as soon as it was found to be a Christian white guy, everyone shut up about terrorism and started saying single crazy guy.

Let me guess, you are disappointed they didn't actually kill some people too aren't you? Then you could really milk it for all its worth right?

You really are sick, aren't you? Of course you are.

But to your troll question, no, of course not. That is stupid.

More likely, they were egged on to do this by another anonymous FBI informant, like other similar cases where the FBI has broken up (it's own) terrorist plots.

Giddy? Seriously? No I find it to be an intersting example of the double standard so many people on this forum (and indeed, in this coutnry) hold about terrorism.

When a Christian or white guy does something, it isn't a big deal

When a Muslim does something, OMG terror!!!1111!!!!

The law is blind, and should be used equally, but as we see a lot, it isn't. Of course, you don't care about double standards, so it probably doesn't bother you.

If these guys had Muslim sounding names, you and everyone else would be screaming about terrorism. Funny how you aren't complaining now.

White man who is a US citizen, threatens the US gubnament; it's done in the name of patriotism.

Brown man threatens the US gubnament; it's terrorism.

Brown man who is a US citizen, threatens the US gubnament and is executed; that thar brown fellar in tha whiate house is abusing his powar.

And, in regards to the Norway psycho, once they found out he was white, they tried to label the victims as Nazi youth of sorts. Yes, Nazi youth that wanted diversity in their society.

Not surprising, the usual assortment of stupidity from mac. Surprised Craig hasn't come in here to tell us how this is all the fault of the 1% wealthy. Then a post from Moonbeam saying these guys were just reflecting their own self hate, and we'd be all set ;)

Must be tough getting through life when you can't even understand the fundamental differences between what happened in Yemen versus this case.

Or in other cases, locked up for years without trial.

Go talk to your obummer about that.

But since these guys aren't Muslims, it isn't terrorism
Hmm, this story is being reported as terrorism, and they are arrested and charged with trying to commit acts of terror. Who said it isn't terrorism?

but as soon as it was found to be a Christian white guy, everyone shut up about terrorism and started saying single crazy guy.

Is it really that hard to understand the difference between someone being part of an organization that believes in terror to further it's goals (ie, a terrorist organization) versus someone who goes off by themselves and does something?

If for nothing more than it'll piss off this guy who goes by the online name GarfieldtheCat.

It's funny watching him get all pissed off at everything.

At least when you attack a specific politician, don't blatantly lie. Those of us who aren't blindly partisan past the point of sanity remember that Obama signed an executive order to close Gitmo and it was Congress that prevented him from doing it. Blaming Dems and Reps equally is one thing. But Obama did very much try to close Gitmo.

It's good to see that folk are starting to notice that idiots who want to kill thousands of people with biological agents don't like themselves very much. It's takes real brain power, in my opinion, to realize that folk who like themselves also like others and don't want to kill them. Pretty soon, I'm sure, we will see folk who notice themselves to be full of anger, rage, and hate will be fleeing to the Psych's couch for some relief instead of reaching for a ricin bomb.

I don't remember the Republicans having control of congress when Obama took office. As a matter of fact he had a veto proof majority. But I'll accept that Obama is such a weak and inept leader that congress blocked him before he had a chance to close it.

Now, about the 'detain indefinitely' part.. care to address that? Or is that the big bad congress's fault too?

Weird huh, leading off with a chain of insults before anyone has even commented on the the story he posts. He's got to be the biggest straw man machine, not to mention self-righteous blowhard on ATP&N. He's got a bug up his ass because he can't handle that people don't agree with him 100% of the time. Just ignore him.
