One heck of a coincidenceThe billboard was being monitored around the clock by security guards. The guard monitoring the billboard at the time the heist took place said he left his station for 5-10 minutes to get something to drink and when he got back, money was falling from the sky.

The billboard was part of a broad promotion by Sportsbook.com that offers members multiple chances to win $100,000.
Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director for Sportsbook.com, issued the following statement to News 3:
"Sportsbook.com placed this billboard on the Strip to promote four $100,000 prize contests that are running this fall. All of them are free to enter, all of them are open to anyone over the age of 18. They include a sports trivia challenge' a weekly 'perfect parlay' football pick 'em contest' a poker free roll and a blackjack tournament.
"The individual or individuals who stole our money obviously chose not to participate in our contests. Sportsbook.com is cooperating fully with the Las Vegas Police Department to help catch the perpetrator(s) and get our cash back now.
I have a feeling something was up ... the powers that be at Sportsbook were actually thrilled that someone broke into the billboard ... because yes it is now all over the news. I think they figured putting real money on a billboard was a great PR stunt as it was, and it would be even better if someone stole the money from it. They claim they had nothing to do with the heist ... but at the same time, as excited as they all were to hear about it this morning makes me wonder.
