my friend who designed this billboard sent me this email:

Found this rather interesting ... a billboard I designed at work for our client Sportsbook.com, which had a $100,000 in $1.00 bills on it was robbed last night in Vegas ... was kind of a stupid idea on the clients part to put that amont of cash on a billboard in the first place ... kind of knew this was going to happen, but damn cool to see a billboard I did all over the evening news ... check out the link.

lol idiots..

Sportsbook.com has stated that this is not a publicity stunt. Police are investigating this incident as a robbery and are looking for someone with a lot of $1.00 bills.

For some reason this made me LOL

I guess a lot of strippers are going to get questioned in vegas.

Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director for Sportsbook.com, issued the following statement to News 3:

"The individual or individuals who stole our money obviously chose not to participate in our contests

I'd say they DID choose to participate. Just not how he expected.

I'd check into the security guard.

Your friend is a very talented designer. Just look at the size of that arrow!

I roffled at this one:

"The individual or individuals who stole our money obviously chose not to participate in our contests. "

😕

I wonder if they worked with local agencies to arrive at this conclusion.

"Sportsbook.com placed this billboard on the Strip to promote four $100,000 prize contests that are running this fall. All of them are free to enter, all of them are open to anyone over the age of 18. They include a sports trivia challenge' a weekly 'perfect parlay' football pick 'em contest' a poker free roll and a blackjack tournament.

"The individual or individuals who stole our money obviously chose not to participate in our contests. Sportsbook.com is cooperating fully with the Las Vegas Police Department to help catch the perpetrator(s) and get our cash back now.

"We thank the police department for their quick response and ongoing investigation. This is not a publicity stunt. The money stolen was put on display to demonstrate that you can win free cash in contests at Sportsbook.com."
ok then, so instead of pimping the address a few times in the statement and mentioning the different games they have they could've just said (4) contests that pay out $100k each. im sorry but im leaning towards a publicity stunt/shill-tactics. that first paragraph just rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

with billboards you have to keep them really simple since you have on average only a couple seconds to get the message across on a billboard. and the focus was the money, hence the arrow//

This was probably an inside job/hoax/insurance scam.

1. Put up ridiculous sign with money on it to get attention.
2. Get a ho to give the security job a bj.
3. Take $40k.
4. Get national publicity.
5. Collect insurance. Keep $40k.
6. Profit ! (no need for ..., it was straight cash)

The billboard was being monitored around the clock by security guards. The guard monitoring the billboard at the time the heist took place said he left his station for 5-10 minutes to get something to drink and when he got back, money was falling from the sky.

One heck of a coincidence
