Bill to give citizenship to all ilegal immigrants

Immigration breakthrough

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States could be put on the path to citizenship under a new immigration bill agreed upon Thursday by a bipartisan group of senators.

First I am sick of them using 11-12 million numbers they have been using it for years, it has been estimated closer to 30 million and that is just adults.

This a cold blow to everyone who went about getting citizenship the hard way.
This is also a low blow to every American and what it means to be an American.

It says Border Patrol agents would be doubled; fencing would be strengthened but you would have to be pretty freaking stupid to think that is going to stop the current influx by very much.

What this bill is, is nothing but a giant reset button just to wipe put the 20-30 million number of illegal?s and start again a zero. This will not stop it from happening all over again.

This bill is a joke. Fencing will be halved from the bill that was previously passed. This bill has all the appearances of doing something about illegal immigration while in fact it does little more than what is already being done. It's just a way for GW to claim he is doing something about it when in fact it changes nothing and he will get out of office without having to face the issue altogether; which is perfect, since he apparently thinks it's OK for all the Mexicans to live here illegally.

I hate to question the outrage, but just what is going to happen if we declare these illegal immigrants to be LEGAL immigrants? From the way you guys are talking about it, I'm picturing the sky turning to fire or something, but I just don't see it.

As I stated in the other thread;

It spells the death of the United State of America;

There are realistically at least 20 million now and this bill allows this 20 million to bring their families over as well. This means wife, kids, mothers, fathers, brothers sisters, cousins, their families and so on. So that 20 million could easily swell to a well over a 100 million in no time and this does not include the millions that will still come here illegally.

We can not absorb this many this fast it is economically impossible, according to what I heard on the Oreilly Factor it already cost Americans over $19,000 per year per illegal immigrant that are here already.

Hispanics are already the fastest growing minority in the US at 44.3 million with a 3.4 percent growth rate and this just includes the ones the U.S. Census Bureau knows about, which are citizens and legals for the most part.

So it is not out of the question that within a short few years we could have over 150 million Hispanics most all of whom will vote democrat, permanently turning this country in to a one party nation. That impact alone will be devastating!

When this happens Hispanic vote will control the nation for ever and with the overwhelming philosophy of Hispanics coming here being "all for Hispanics nothing for anyone else" it will not only make it impossible for future immigration enforcement but tear down what little we already have, pull down fences abolish border patrol etc... When this happens and it will make no mistake of that, we will have given the United States of America or what is left of it away.

If you don't think this will happen and turn the once powerful US in to a third would country just keep watching mostly democratic Hispanic controlled California. They already can't pass or enforce illegal immigration measures or laws, in fact have extreme opposition to everything regarding it and is already well on its way to being a brokeass third world state because of it.

Yes, I saw that after I posted my question. But that doesn't really answer my question, as it is long on FUD and short on facts. The total number of new immigrants is not a realistic number by any means, as no proposal supports what you're talking about...not to mention that whole families are probably ALREADY here, you can't honestly suggest it will be legal or realistic that each illegal immigrant here today with by 5 new immigrants "in no time". Not to mention that the "at least 20 million" is a disputed number, and while a lot of the anti-illegal immigration folks USE that number, it's not quite clear where you all are getting it from.

As for the rest of it, that's a terrible argument...what the hell do I care who the majority race in this country is? Are you saying that this country will only be good as long as the white folks are in charge? And you wonder why some people think anti-illegal immigration is really a cover for racism...

By the way, despite all the FUD being spread about California, it's still one of the most powerful and diverse economies in the world, and still one of the most desired places to live. If California is "3rd world", sign me up!

they will have employment authorization for 4 years, after that they can apply for Green Card (resident alien), after many years being resident they might apply for citizenship. No legislation will give free citizenship to aliens. Its a way to get out for underground and start paying taxes. The republicans did not have the guts to do a reasonable bill last year.

Unless its been stripped from the new bill, they will also have to pass an English proficiency test as well in order to obtain citizenship.

And pay $5000 each. That's a nice windfall for the treasury = 5 billion $'s for every million illegals who choose to go the legal route.

That's not really a convincing argument, you know... 😉

On the other hand, it would be nice to get more religious folks in the country who are not part of the religious right...if there is one thing in this country that could use more ideological balance, it's religion.

On the other hand, it would be nice to get more religious folks in the country who are not part of the religious right...if there is one thing in this country that could use more ideological balance, it's religion.

I dunno... I'm not for this bill... I figure anyone who just wants to become an American Citizen be it French, English, Canadian, Japan, Russia... Whatever, they are not just coming from Mexico...

What this bill is saying to me is, hey (WORLD) want to become an American Citizen? Got 5K in cash and a plane ticket? Then you too can become one that is if you make it in before the what ever the cut off date is gonna be... Wow, I don't see any other country offering this... I don't know about you but there are tons of loop holes... Damn, first we move all our factories to other countries.... Then we outsource thousands of jobs to the highest bidder.... What now we are selling citizenships? If were gonna sell em, I say lets sell em them to the highest bidder...

Why not do the first 3000 @ 5K dollars and then the next 3K @ 10K and so on... Even if we did this tho, I think it's a bad idea... There are better alternatives... I can't believe that we have the best minds in America working on this and this is the best we can come up with?

The increased traffic and rapid increase in real estate prices can be contributed from the massive amount of illegal immigrants. Is it a coincidence that the rapid appreciation in housing took place mainly in California, Florida, and Arizonia... all states facing massive illegal immigration problems. This is the price we pay with massive amounts of illegal immigrants. Homes and land becomes harder to afford for the natural born citizens. Maybe we should make are immigration policy exactly how it is done in Mexico, like for instance immigrants are not allowed to purchase any land close to the ocean.... If the U.S. copied the immigration policy from Mexico word for word, I would love to see Mexico's and illegal immigrants reaction to it.

Right on....if we were to copy mexico's immigration system, we would throw all latin americans in labor camps for 6 months, and if they came from first world countries, then extort money from them and then send them back! Funny how mexico wants to instill their way in the usa, but yet, their own system is more corrupt than the mafia itself, but nobody is complaining about it! But those illegals that make it to the usa, are the first ones to protest on the streets immigration laws; if they get caught in mexico, they are the first ones to cry to be sent back to their country!
