In my opinion, Barney Franks fucked up bad, and wont admit it. Its not ALL is fault, but he was one of many that did fuck up and he should admit to that.

Aside from all that, Bill O'Reilly is a douchebag, and has no place in journalism, he is angry, shortsided, hyperpartisaned, ignorant, and impatient.

So how can you disagree with my post?

You said you disagree, then you agree with pretty much everything that I said.

I don't get it.

Also O'Reilly isn't hyper-partisan as people would like you to believe.

Now he is very, very opinionated and the majority of those opinions fall to the right of center. However, some of his opinions fall to the left of center and he is just as opinionated about those.

Bill's thing is he comes across as a real jerk to almost all of his guests and he is a real hardass and a hypocrite that always bitches about poor journalism while he does his own hatchet job journalism on people.

His job is to have opinions and be partisan. Hell Keith Olberman patterned his entire show around O'Reilly and no one around here seems to hate him.

Raving lunatic news analysis.

Wonder why?

You guys need to remember that there is a vast difference between a journalist reporting the news and someone like Olberman or O'Reilly interpreting it. Their job isn't to be fair, honest, or non-partisan. Their job is to give their opinion.

Where we have issues is with people who are serving a role as a non-analytical journalist reporting facts who let their biases bleed into their pieces anyways.

I don't understand why someone hasn't decked O'Reilly. He's a fat slob and is in awful shape. LOL. He probably needs to be spanked hard by someone with a serious 'tude. Maybe he'd get a clue..or to the gym.

Of course, in this instance, Barny Frank isn't the one to do it. :) Maybe that's why he was chosen?

Someone suggest Bill have Evander Holyfield on one night so he can tell him everything he did wrong to lose to Michael Moorer. :)

Sooner or later, it's gonna' happen...

That is 100% fact.

But until you can look at other people on your side of the political spectrum who suck an equal amount of cock and call them out on it then you are also a cock sucker.

There is a ton of people here who are very good at seeing everyone's fault but their own parties.

Case and point when Bush was asked what he did wrong and he couldn't come up with anything at the time. That makes him a cock sucker.

But when Barney Frank fucks up like he did and is called out on it as he was on Bill's show and in this thread and you have the usual suspects in here defending him like crazy then they are also cock suckers.

The only difference is O'Reilly, Bush, and Frank make millions being cock suckers where as the crew here chugs that cock for free.

Which is more pathetic?

If Carter 2.0 vs. Bush 2.0 is the best argument you can make, this election is already over.

Well Frank admits he's a beautiful being, hell he celebrates it:laugh:

Maybe if O'Reilly would have let him present his case and not shouted over him and instead calmly pointed out where Frank was culpable we've might have come to the conclusion that indeed Frank was largely responsible but instead he went off like a fucktard and made Frank look like a victim

O'Reilly was just trying to make good television.. in the clip he played Frank said it probably wasn't the best investment. And if you take the investment advice of Rep. Frank and invest millions of dollars, you deserve to lose it. I don't see how O'Reilly is trying to nail him on that.

Yes, I think anyone who doesn't like anothers debating/interviewing style should punch him in the face.

I'm pretty right of center and O'Reilly didn't come across very favorably in that interview. If he wanted to tear Frank a new one he could have done it with a lot more evidence and a lot less yelling and interrupting. Frank shares quite of a bit of blame for the mess we're in now, but if you put all the guilty parties in one room it would be a very large room.

I've seen O'Reilly do well and this wasn't it.

I'm all for free speech but you're right, I'm not tolerant of some gasbag screaming in my face. You on the other hand are probably accustomed to it as you seem to be the submissive type.

Correction...O'Reilly was trying to make as many dollars as possible, with no regard as to good or bad.
It's TV like that which I'm sure has Edward R Murrow rolling in his grave!

O'Reilly had been behaving himself lately, but he reverted to his bad old ways here. Selectively edit a tape, deny it when confronted by the subject of that tape, shout him down and cut off his mic when he tries to call you on it.

Frank is indeed culpable in this Freddie/Fannie mess, but O'Reilly really blew it with his rant.

It's TV like that which I'm sure has Edward R Murrow rolling in his grave!

It's worse than that Billo is enough to make Philo Farnsworth roll over in his grave and regret his most well known invention.

Philo Farnsworth

Philo Taylor Farnsworth
(August 19, 1906 ? March 11, 1971) was an American inventor. He is best known for inventing the first completely electronic television. In particular, he was the first to make a working electronic image pickup device (video camera tube), and the first to demonstrate an all-electronic television system to the public.

In his later life, Farnsworth also invented a small nuclear fusion device known as a fusor.

That last line suggests he was also an inspiration for Doc Brown's Mr. Fusion.

I only watch O'Reilly maybe a few times a year. I just don't watch tv much besides Law and Order haha.

That said, I can see why he has such high ratings. Political leanings and hackery aside, O'Reilly gets tough and in their face and that's what people want to see. People are sick of softball interviews and interviewers just letting people give answers that don't actually answer the questions asked. People want to see passion.

I slightly disagree (I think)...people watch Orally for the same reason they like to listen to gossip (true or not) and watch accidents.

Can I have my 6 minutes back?

The problem with O'Reilly is that he's all sensationalism with no attempt to get at the truth of anything. If that's the entertainment you like, great, but do the rest of us a favor and stop pretending it's the news or real political commentary or anything like that, because it's not.

BTW, and I've already addressed this too often here, but Fannie and Freddie did not cause the housing crisis, they were victims of it. Willing victims who went along with it, you could argue, but victims nonetheless. They weren't the ones lending out the jumbo 100% neg-am stated income deals that brought this house of cards down.

Well, I read this... and then posted to it. I should have pruned it better.

See the people on this board are not content to be partisan, they want to be hyper-partisan enough to feel that they are e-pundits and e-strategists for their parties as if anyone cares.

Very true. O'Reilly pimps his ratings an awful lot, but what he doesn't understand is that 2 things and only 2 things drive his ratings; he has the market concerned on conservative TV hackery, and he is an entertaining blowhard. It's like watching a train wreck; it's horrible, but at the same time you can't turn away.
