Bill O'Reilly's job is to make people angry and to get people outraged about what is going on. He does that very well. That is why he is so successful. The lefties have been trying to beat him for many years but it has never worked and won't work anytime soon. The audience loves Bill. He delivers what they're asking for.

He is a very smart man and knows quite a bit. He can easily defeat any of your typical leftists in a debate. He does make controversial points, especially when you're on the opposing team, but you cannot take away the fact that he is supported by many.

I used to love bill o'reilly. when his show first came out, and for a good three years or so ... he was the best around.

but by the fourth year, he started thinking he was a 'know it all' and by the fifth, he was so in love with himself that is was hard to watch.

now, he is so smug and thinks he is unstoppable. i cannot watch his show anymore.

Bill O'Reilly has never been the best around. He appeals to the lowest common denominator, so he has good ratings.

You are entitles to your opinion... and that might be the case now, but in the beginning ... around 1996... his show was great. he has stuff on that was not reported in most other outlets, he was not afraid to stop ppl from bullshyting, and he seemed to be a decent guy.

that is certainly not the case anymore, though.

Should he have been stopping himself way back then also?

I don't know, I share O'Reilly's views on a lot of topics, but he seems a little too defensive when he's being attacked. Irish Catholic upbringing I guess.

That and getting his hand caught in the cookie jar or might I say the Nookie bar.

I think Bill O'Reilly is the perfect example as to why America is so hated throughout the world.

Are you guys really thinking this through? Or are you guys just repeating someone else or just making statements without thinking twice?

Hate? Hated by who? And how does that affect us? Why are we hated?

Are we hated because we look out for our own interests? Are we hated because we have the capability of invading a country half a world away? Are we hated because terrorists always blame us for the world's problems?

If Bill O'Reilly is the reason why they hate us, then what makes Alan Colmes?

You have to look beyond one person and beyond one ideology and look at the root of the problem. Sure, some people around the world hate us for Iraq. But the Iraq war only confirmed their feelings towards the United States that they had prior to the war.

I don't think he meant that people hate the US because of B O'Reilly. What he said was that the attitude of B O'Reilly is the same attitude amongst many Americans that causes the hatred of the US.

Oh, Jeeze this is getting awful P&N.

I think O'reilly is where a lot of Americans sit in respect to war. We are in disbelief as to the manner in which a faction would rather have protracted Civil War rather that seeking their own voice in government, yet not a majority.
As far as the reasons for the war, I believe a lot of decisions were based preconceived notions. Mistakes were made.

no he has good ratings because he has or at least on tv he has convictions. he believes that some things are right or wrong no matter the situation, and he believes justice must be served. for example, some people would say having sex with a fourteen-year-old is okay in some cases, like if the child initiated it or it was consensual. bill will come on and say no, it's simply wrong and nothing can change that. you may respect that or not, but the fact is not many tv personalities will aggressively stand up for what they believe in, and so, being bold and unique, he will probably stay on the air for awhile.

What about sexual harassment?
