It is also interesting that many liberals have supported the suspension of the first, second, and fourth amendments in order to be "safer."
For what it is worth remember that the Bill of Rights was rejected many times so it was almost not included. The main reason for it's rejection was that many might think a right not explicitly listed was a right not protected.
Indeed, many attack the right to self defense and specifically when a gun is used even though it is eplicitly protected. In fact, most of the Bill of Rights have been butchered by both the liberals and conservatives of the past decades. The biggest destruction came in the 90's by the god Clinton and has not slow much under Bush.
How many times have you heard "Privacy is not protected by the Constitution?" Yet, read the 9'th and 10th amendment very closely.
9. The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
(In other words, just because certain rights were mentioned in the constitution does not deny other rights of the people. Of course, the Founding Fathers talked about inalienable rights granted by God. Since those are dirty words these days we have lost many of our protections.)

(In other words unless the right was specifically delegated to the Federal or State Governments by the Constitution or the People then those rights belong to the people.)
Now, someone show me where the Constitution says the right to privacy belongs to either the Federal or State Governments and then I will believe that the Constitution does not protect the right to privacy.
As for the schools "teaching" the bill of rights I wonder exactly what they are teaching.

Yet they teach them that we don't have the right to keep and bear arms.

Yet they children are taught that they do not have the right to say the "C" word. Polls given to school aged children show that they have been taught that the Government should have the right to censor the media. (I believe the polls showed 90% of the children believed this.)

Yet, so many belive that to hold a terrorist as prisoner is against the Constitution.
No, I think the children are being taught nothing about the bill of rights and the constitution except that it was created by evil men that hated anyone who was not white.
