I stopped watching O'Reilly when he defended Dan Rather and Counterfeit Gate. Bill's antennae point in the direction of ratings and money. He's a conservative by nature - a sell out by compulsion.

Can't even watch past the first couple minutes. The Drug War has failed. Drugs are everywhere. Legalize everything and make addiction a health problem, not a criminal one.

Who cares?

Pretty big issue. Billions spent incarcerating druggies. Thousands of lives lost in drug trade. Untold insurance loses from theft related to acquiring expensive drugs. Gangs like Prohibition but much worse. Whole area in Arizona and Mexico people fear to tread. etc etc etc

@1:55 O'Reilly: "...if you really cared about kids..."

Instant debate failure. That's like Godwin's law for politicians and talking heads.

drug control is messy and expensive, but it works better than the alternative which is 19th century China.

I find it interesting that his core argument is "70% of child abuse cases involve drug and/or alcohol abuse". As his guest pointed out...err, alcohol is legal and not part of this debate. O'Reilly calls that "bull". Is it? The argument isn't about alcohol. What part of that 70% is alcohol only?

You must be either a cartel member or are in drug related law enforcement and your opinion is based on keeping or increasing your income. Or maybe your just a clueless idiot that just enjoys bloody violence. Either way your on the wrong side of the argument

What, are you serious? Drug control doesn't work at all. Schools with the DARE program statistically have more drug abuse than those that don't. There are millions of people in jail who have only used drugs, but never sold them or murdered anyone. The countries that have legalized or decriminalized drugs have all experienced the same effect: reduced violence and increased tax revenue.

When you have what amounts to a thread like this, its not worth reading, its simply worth saying that anything Bill O says is hardly worth hearing.

I don't start threads based on the imaginary credibility of my Uncle George, or my sisters hair dresser, why should we assume Bill O has any more credibility.

Bill O-really is the worst sort. He takes the authoritarian sides of both parties and makes them his own. He is no champion of individual liberty. He's a nanny-state Conservative.

Legalized alcohol is messy and expensive, but it has worked better than the alternative which was prohibition.

And the completion that that sentence SHOULD have been ". . . we'd control drugs just like we control alcohol and tobacco."

Why are so many people alcoholics? If you answer that, the secret key is all yours.

alcohol is legal. Alcohol contributes a great deal to bloody violence.

So how would legalized drug use reduce violence ?

btw, other than violence, your post has no argument for changing the staus quo, genius.
