Bill O’Reilly, the host of Fox News’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” is threatening to flee the country if Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont — the self-described democratic socialist who is running for the Democratic Party nomination — is elected president. As quoted in the Huffington Post, O’Reilly said:

“If Bernie Sanders gets elected president, I’m fleeing … I’m going to Ireland. And they already know it. … I shouldn’t say it publicly because that will get Sanders more votes,” he said. “But I’m not going to pay 90 percent of my income to that guy. I’m sorry. I’m not doing it.”

O’Reilly is proud of his Irish ancestry (as a recent emigrant from Ireland and current U.S. citizen, I heartily approve of these sentiments). But he probably doesn’t know very much about what Ireland is like these days. From the perspective of its Western European neighbors, Ireland is a small, market-friendly, right-of-center country. But from the perspective of American conservatism, Ireland looks like a hellhole of socialism.

I think I'll withhold trying to tell him the top bracket proposed by Bernie is 52% because we'll get rid of him hopefully. Gotta love all these right wingers scared... because they're feeling the BERN! 😀
 
As much as I think the US would be better off with a House/Senate/Supreme Court/White House full of Sanders'seses, I don't see him beating HRC in the primary.

Ol' Bill doesn't have to worry, although I'd be interested in seeing Irish opinion on gaining a Bill O'Reilly.
 
and Ted Nugent said that he would be dead or in jail if Obama were re-elected. Conservatives love to promise as much as they love to not deliver on their promises. I'm expecting some conservative nut to eventually up the ante to "If ________ happens then I'll cut my testicles off!"

Where would he flee? Nigeria? how come no reporter asks him where he will go.
He cant go to any European country, too socialist and high taxes. Only place is Africa, some middle east countries.

And, us libruuuls laugh at idiotic notions about right-wing muppets moving out of the country because they never do. Otherwise, Limbaugh and friends would all be in Costa Rica or Somalia after 7 years of the Kenyan Muslim Atheist Usurper.

The only ones I'm waiting for to leave are Kanye West and Rosie O'donnell. Bill, however, will probably keep his word. He's a stand up guy and all.

Ireland has considerably higher taxes than the US and is considerably more socialist.

I always find conservative threats to flee the US to be amusing and incoherent. At least when liberals say they want to move to another country it makes sense as every other developed country is much more liberal than the US. Conservatives, you already live in the most right wing developed country there is. There's nowhere to flee to.

Also to mention the obvious: doesn't O'Reilly realize that him leaving is a bonus?
