He was best when he hosted Politically Incorrect. He needs to keep his monologues short and he needs other people to trade punches/ideas with.

IMHO, he's not a stand-up comedian who can do a half-hour to one hour special like Chris Rock or Robin Williams.

I like his Real Time show. He makes good points that others would be too afraid to say a lot of the time. I disagree with him about Bush, though (he hates him, I support the prez). There is a lot of truth to some of his beliefs...he says he can never run for office because he'll publicly say he thinks drugs are good and religion is bad!

He really pissed me off when he said we were cowards and the 911 hijackers were not.

He didn't say that.

I've never heard of that quote but he always says that suicide bombers etc aren't cowards. No sh!t they aren't cowards. Cowards don't blow themselves up for their religion/ideology.

The quote is what got him fired from ABC. If they aren't cowards, why did they kill a bunch of innocent civilians by secretly stealing airliners and flying them into undefended skyscrapers? They are cold-blooded murderers and cowards. If they had declared war on the US and attacked our military forces, then they would not be cowards. Anyone that can kill by only murdering innocent civilians is a coward.

How does that make them Cowards? They went willingly to their Deaths, that's not Cowardice.

That was Bill Maher's point, the 9/11 Hijackers/terrorists did their task knowing they were going to die. OTOH, and the whole reason his comment was so controversial, some of the first actions of the US Military was to lobb Cruise Missiles at Al Qaida camps. Many were going on how the Brave(US Forces) were fighting the Cowards(AlQuaida) and Bill looked at what each side done and went, "WTF?".

"We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly." -- Bill Maher, Politically Incorrect
exact quote

"Women and children are a coward's attack, Run to the hills...Run for your Life"

Sorry always think of Iron Maiden Lyrics when I hear people talking about terrorist and how they attack unarmed and unsuspecting civilians.

They have the balls to die and yet lack the courage to fight and attack actual soldiers. I realize that they are severly outgunned but at least they would get more respect for their cause.

Agree

We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away.

Disagree

using an American Airplane filled with unarmed civilians to attack unarmed civilians is VERY cowardly

No, it may be many things, but it's not cowardly. Use the word properly.

In a terrorists mind, all American's are enemies, there are no such things as civilians to them, and staying in an airplane that you know will kill you is not cowardly. A coward is " One who shows ignoble fear in the face of danger or pain. " How is riding a plane to your death showing fear in the face of danger and pain. It's not, Bill Maher is correct.

IIRC, many of the terrorists didn't know it was a one way mission...

I like his rants about women, disagree with some of his political views, but listen to him anyway...

The ones on 9/11 did and I think that was what he was referring too.
