Bill Maher rips Bush a new one over Regeant law school/DOJ scandal

It's both scary and amusing to see Bush use affirmative action to hire the LEAST qualified candidates for the DOJ in a completely partisan manner. I mean, we're talking bottom of the barrel here, he doesn't even try to hire plausibly qualified candidates. It's sickening to see critical positions being filled by unqualified partisan hacks with neither the educational or work experience required. It's almost 100% certain that Rove tried to stack the DOJ in order to prosecute people based on party affiliation. There's no debate about this now, and if you think otherwise, i would love to see what your defense of Bush is.

That's not a ripping him a new one. It's ripping the same assholes they've been since day one of their war on the U.S. Constitution.

The Bushwhacko administration is a worse enemy than Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. At least, they admit they're out to destroy us. The Criminal In Chief and his gang of traitors are abusing the power of their government offices at taxpayers' expense to do it from within.

RIP U.S. Constitution. 🙁

Do you think him calling President Bush-"President ****** For Brains" was a little over the line? I believe that is worse than what Imus called those Rutgers girls.

We should be tracing this back to the source---Pat Robertson who basically created this law school and now can proudly show the world just how his visions of fine committed Christians
plays out in the public arena---------come now Pat---don't be modest---stand up and take a bow so we can all applaud you.---credit where credit is due.

And don't forget to keep sending Pat your money---there are so many other fine works to be funded.---------------we need more committed Christians like Monica Goodling whose has found God and the fifth amendment at Regency.

SOP procedure for keeping your lackeys loyal. Place people in office they are not qualified to hold, they will do anything they are told to by superiors to keep that job. 101 on how a corrupt political organization operates.

One difference is that the Rutgers ladies were neither "nappy-headed" nor "hos". President Bush, on the other hand...

You people just need to let that one die. The points made about Monica and the people appointed in this administration makes Imus look like chicken scratch.

You people need to stop with the "Divertor" problem, these real problems needs to be stripped from their posts and replaced with people who know what they are doing and are not handed the position because of who they know.

How would you like to be called '****** For Brains"? I think that is a very harsh term, whether true or not. And it certainly wasn't funny. And i like Bill Maher and generally think he is funny.

He said that? Oh, oh, sounds like he's going to get kicked off the air again. It's a tough life being right so much of time, isn't Bill.

Of course I would hold your breath waiting for all of Bills advertisers/supporters to bail on him.

Were I a member of a group responsible for nearly the number of major screw-ups as this administration, I would expect "**** for brains" and worse.

No, I think it was an understatement and an insult to all innocent sh8 for brains people.

The Rutgers girls are accomplished young women who did nothing to deserve the kind of scorn Imus put out, especially on a nationally broadcast show on the public airwaves. There aren't enough negative adjectives to describe the damage Bush has done to our nation, regardless of how much fecal matter happens to occupy his cranium.

Bush and his cabal of lying, tratorous murderers aren't just stupid. They're rock bottom evil. :|

If any of those Rutgers girls become president and lie to start wars and have numerous scandals on their resume, wake me up.

1. Don't divert from the real topic here. Bush has appointed STUPID people to TOP positions.

2. Using racist/sexist language to describe accomplished young women is wrong. Insulting the intelligence of the most public figure in the WORLD is fair game. He knew what he was getting into when he ran for President.

This guy is completely ignorant. He insults an entire school based on the actions of a few individuals. Sounds to me like he is acting just like the people he despises on a regular basis. I assure you, Regent University?s Law program involves a little more effort than three years of doing nothing and reading only one book. I?ve been attending Regent University for two semesters now and can personally tell you this guy has no clue what he?s talking about. Over the past four years I?ve attended three colleges, Virginia Tech., Old Dominion, and Regent University. Regent is just as challenging and demanding as the other two colleges I have attended. In the time I have been a student at Regent, not once have I been asked, or required, to take any form of religion class. It?s a shame that people like Bill Maher fail to think before they speak by insulting a school full of dedicated and hard working individuals just to support their hatred for Bush. He should not even be speaking on the subject of elitism. I find it funny how he is bothered by particular groups practicing elitism while at the same time he insults the intelligence of an entire school.

The Bushwhackos have hired 150 graduates of Regent's law school. Mahr's point is, one would hope our Federal government would hire graduates from top tier institutions, not one where the value of a degree is a scant cut above a prize from a box of cereal.
Regent University
.
.
Law school

The Regent law school was founded in 1986, "when Oral Roberts University shut down its ailing law school and sent its library to Robertson's Bible-based college in Virginia. It was rare for Regent's graduates to get government jobs, but in 2001, the Bush administration picked the dean of Regent's government school, Kay Coles James, to be the director of the Office of Personnel Management, "the doors of opportunity for government jobs were thrown open to Regent alumni."

In 2007 when Monica Goodling invoked her fifth amendment rights to avoid testifying about White House involvement in U.S. attorneys controversy it brought attention on Regent's law program.

Regent law was ranked a "tier four" school by US News & World Report, which was the lowest score and essentially a tie for 136th place. Thus, when its graduates started to take jobs at the United States Department of Justice, "Conservative credentials rose, while prior experience in civil rights law and the average ranking of the law school attended by the applicant dropped." While "Seven years ago, 60 percent of the class of 1999 -- Goodling's class -- failed the bar exam on the first attempt," the school has started to remake itself. Including hiring John Ashcroft for its recently created class on "Human Rights, Civil Liberties, and National Security."

Also mentioned was "a recent Regent law school newsletter, a 2004 graduate described being interviewed for a job as a trial attorney at the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division in October 2003. Asked to name the Supreme Court decision from the past 20 years with which he most disagreed, he cited Lawrence v. Texas, the ruling striking down a law against sodomy because it violated gay people's civil rights."
I shudder to think what their schools of law and government teach about the separation of church and state, but at least, they taught Monica Gooding how to invoke the Fifth Amendment to avoid incriminating herself for crimes she may have committed as a top level official in the U.S. Department of Justice. :frown:

See my sig. 🙁

60% of Monica Goodling's class failed the bar exam:

They've improved their passing rate, but it's still a low tier university.

edit: P.s., i'm pretty sure Maher was being tongue in cheek with his "one book" joke

Regent University has indeed improved since Ms. Goodling's class (of which only about 40% passed the bar exam),but it is still ranked a tier-four school by US News & World Report - the lowest ranking possible. This contrasts strongly with its position as the Bush administration's preferred source for new Justice Department attorneys. Prior to John Ashcroft's tenure as Attorney General, these new hires were taken from the top of the class in the top-tier law schools, not from the theologically correct institutions.

Seriously? You go to Regent University?

I'm sure you can find plenty of hard working people at Wal-Mart too, but we don't put them into high government offices. Regent University is the worst law school in the country, and it is founded to produce students with a distinct ideological bent. Those people shouldn't be let anywhere near the DOJ.

Bush have lied and sent a lot of our young into harm's way, the Rutgers girls have not done anything that deserves what Imus called them. How can you even compare that!
:disgust:

150 graduates from pat robertsons joke of a 'law school' are in the bush administration?

how i can still be shocked at the idiocy of this administration is beyond me.
