Bill Mahar to me is a exercise in tolerance. I frankly find him hilarious and his political insight sometimes makes me think outside of what I am comfortable with. He may be very liberal and progressive but he makes for a great devils advocate if your a republican....

My tolerance comment comes from his atheism. Atheists occupy somewhere between 14-20 percent of the US but get less advocacy then some religions that are in the low 2-5 percent... I am comfortable enough in my political views and my religion to listen to what he has to say and laugh like crazy on many an occasion...

When I lived in LA I remember seeing him at the bars and parties on the sunset strip and in the hills in the nineties... The girls back then never gave him the time of day which makes him that much funnier to me for some strange reason.. One time at Shane Blacks house we made fun of Andy Dick who was passed out on a couch with his pants around his feet.... That guy was always funny as hell...

Bil Maher is a complete tool, and not even funny one at that. I haven't seen this video yet, but I'm sure it will follow right along the usual Maher line of stupid reasoning and be just as unfunny as the rest of his stuff.

Think you left a decimal out of there... most every poll conducted shows .4%-1.6% of Americans describe themselves as atheist.

I'm glad you're still able to reach conclusions without all that "information". Thought and reasoning can be so uncomfortable...

Unless he somehow does a radical 180 and for the first time does something funny and witty, it will suck. I'm pretty confident that this clip is more of the usual Maher suckage.

Would you somehow find him funnier and wittier if his opinions on things were more in line with yours?

Always funny to see how well Maher pisses off the religious types. Says a lot about the accuracy of his statements.

I might not agree with all of his political views, but his comments on organized religion are usually bang on the money.

I don't like the guy either. Ignorant and arrogant.

To me, the guy is in the same league as George Carlin with his ability to see the absurdity in general beliefs about politics, religion, and life itself. Neither hit it 100% of the time, but the hits far outweighed the misses.

This clip is a hit.

Is there actually any Wingnut Comedians, at least ones that are funny? Dennis Miller sure isn't and hasn't been since he left SNL.

Bill Maher is monkey ball sweat. No, I did not watch the video, any more than I would visit the zoo to watch monkey ball sweat dripping. Maher makes a pretty good living by regularly eliciting Pavlovian responses from a certain group of people who hate religion and generally America as it is currently structured, which is certainly his right but should never be confused with intelligence or creativity.

And so my principle that wisdom is never found on Youtube still stands.

Many more people are closet atheists that will admit it, even to themselves. Funerals are full of crying people for a reason. They know deep down in that place where they can't lie to themselves that the deceased isn't frolicking in fields with angels. If they truly believed in god and heaven they'd be exultant anytime a loved one died. If I won the lottery and lost my job in the same moment, you think I'd give a crap about my job?

Not this shit again. I pointed this out to Phineas in his religion thread about 3 weeks ago using the census bureaus own numbers. It is about what manimal says and is correct.
