This guy I know was heading up a charity organization once. He was going around asking for donations, calling and sending emails...anyway, most people/companies didn't even bother to reply, but Bill Gates (he kinda sent it as a joke) actually wrote him back. That is, his secretaries did, but the guy was still pretty impressed he was organized enough to answer ALL his mail.

I emailed an argument to Bill Gates once saying that it was unfair to make us pay for Windows 98 when Windows 95a never worked right and Windows 95b wasn't available to those that paid for Windows 95a. Then, I also asked for his autograph..

I have a nice 5*7 autographed photograph of Bill Gates sitting on my desk now. :D

EDIT: Bill Gates made something like $2billion in Microsoft's stock increases that year. If it took him 3 seconds to sign that photo, that was $190.26 of his time.

For some reason we get this thread about once a month. I have no idea why so many people want to ask this question.

I was watching an extreme homes show about a week ago. On it they showed a place for sale that they described as the home of "an unnamed Microsoft founder". Everything was computer controlled. Much more than the typical technological home. They were showing around the house at all the electronics and there was a Sony computer running the sound system (looked like a slightly older Vaio). So that wasn't necessarilly the computer that Bill Gates uses personally but it is the closest I know.
