Bill Gates bans his children from using Apple products

Makes sense. Not a good look to be using a competitors product. I doubt you see the CEO of General Motors driving a BMW.

Well Bill carries on and on about Apple and how their products are horrible, and his wife basically said she checks out iPhones when she sees them and has fantasies about one. Bill can't be too happy about his Wife wanting to sleep with the Enemy 🙂

It's one thing to like a competitors product, but to actually come out and talk about it isn't good. With that said, WM devices are ugly and pretty crappy (I owned 2) They might have more functionality, but at the cost of any style and a sh*tty UI - no thanks.

What's next his kids coming out saying they want a Wii? lol.

That's pretty childish, and this is coming from a former Mac user who no longer owns a single Apple product and doesn't even particularly like them anymore. I can understand Bill himself doing so but when his kids get older and get jobs they're going to go buy iPods whether dad wants them to or not. As for the wife... well, she's a more public figure than his kids so I guess I can understand it, but it still seems pretty dumb.

At least he's not forcing them all to use Zunes.

While the article does not claim he forces them to use Zunes, it does say all Apple products are banned. So if they want an mp3 player a Zune would be the only option, as I'm sure Sandisk shit is banned too. While I love my Touch and don't like the Zune too much. If my dad was Billy and I could have anything I wanted besides an Apple product I would probably love my Zune 😀

Who's going to listen to her? She managed the Microsoft Bob project. 😛

That's his fault for being an idiot then. It's one thing to dog food your own products but it's not like they don't support Apple products in other ways. They make Office for OS X so that means at least some of their employees have to own Apple hardware.

Agreed, most of our engineers here have WM devices and I hate when I've gotta help them with something on them. Of course I didn't particularly like iPhone when I looked at one either.

Billions of dollars or my iPhone?

I'd take the iPhone

That I don't get. It's just a phone, I've helped out one of our employees with her iPhone a couple of times and I wasn't impressed.

Actually I think it is only going to be 10 million each unless he changed his will lately. There was a big article about it a few years back where they were interviewing Bill and he said that his kids would only get 10 million a piece which should be more than enough for them to live and the rest was going to go to different charities. He went on to say that if they wanted more money than that they would have to earn it like he did and do something, and that the 10 million they would have was 10 million more than he had when starting out, so it should be a lot easier.
