the dog dies and they gave the cat (Socks) away!
They are definitely not getting my vote for "pet owner of the year!"

Were they so crass to get these pets as photo ops or image-building material while in the White House? And now they've outlived their usefullness?

I love dogs but I know it'll be cruel to own one and keep it at the house during the day while I'm at work and at kennels when I travel (which is alot now).

I'm very concerned that Buddy got out, and was roaming free. I'm also disappointed in the Clintons that Buddy was not better trained than that.

Of course, as a news item, it's not very important, but understand that there are people who live vicariously through the lives of Presidents and other celebrities. So, as long as there are people who will be interested in this "news", CNN will report it.
