"If Iraq came across the Jordan River ... I would grab a rifle and get in the trench and fight and die," he said to massive applause.

Considering that Iraq would have to march across Jordan to do this I guess he is safe for the moment.

Link to the story.

After making ~ 9.2 million for speaking engagements since he has been out of office not mentioning his wifes ~4 million from memoirs book advance, I can really see him risking his fat ass to protect some other country when he wouldnt even protect his own. (Maybe if it was a McDonalds or BK). Who pays this kind of cash anyway and who wants to hear him speak?? Now he wants us (the taxpayers) to pick up his legal expenses!!!

What a scumbag.

He wants legal fees for Whitewater related things, not Lewinski affair.
I think he should get them. A president can't be expected to use his own limited financial resources to defend against politically motivated and baseless fishing expeditions that are conducted against him using unlimited taxpayer money.

SuperTool don't you think that was the intention right from the start, he beat us so we'll ruin him financially?

Actually, the Republican party should be forced to pay for both Clinton's bills and the government's cost for the Whitewater / Travelgate / Lewinsky witch hunt. It was a shameless political attack. If you think it wasn't, then why are none of the same Republicans interested in finding "the truth" about Bush and Cheney's financial dirty dealings?

Bill & Hillary were probably even guilty of scamming 50-100K back when he was governor, but the Republicans really only cared about mudslinging and didn't care how many tens of millions of taxpayer dollars they used to do it.

No, I'm an independent not a Democrat -- they're corrupt too, and given the chance they'd happily spend years and millions attacking Bush in the same way, but that doesn't lessen the Republicans' guilt.

um, ok. You fork over the money then. I'm not sure where you get baseless fishing expeditions from since whitewater was going on while he was governor of Arkansas and the lewinski thing just came out. Besides, how is having millions of dollars limited? He screws an intern and gets off scot free. I screw an intern and get put in jail, fined up the bucket and have to register everywhere I go. My life is ruined. Him and Hillary are involved in many bank scandals to make money and they get off because they use their political position to their advantage. I do what he did and I get locked up and my life is ruined. After everything he did, he is still off living it up, while I would be in jail many times over and in debt like $50 million dollars. But it does no good to rant because it will do nothing and you won't care anyway. Shutting up now...

Yeah that makes sense. If they found anything on Bill Clinton aside from Monica Lewinski, do you think the Republicans would have made a laughing stock out of themselves and impeached him for lying about a BJ? They got nothing, that's why they were grasping for straws.
People don't go to jail for having consensual sex, I don't know where are you at, Saudi Arabia? If you had sex with an intern, nothing would happen to you at all. No independent councelor would be appointed to investigate you, and 40 million would not be spend to investigate what dress you left semen on. So you are talking in theoretical terms, but in practice if Clinton wasn't president he could have sex with all the interns he wanted and noone aside from Hillary would care.

um you don't go to jail for screwing an intern unless the intern is UNDERAGE. fatty wasn't underage, she was a little slut maybe, but nothing more. she came on hard at an old man, flashing her panties etc. clinton wasn't some letcher going after her from the start like many would love to believe.

and yes the republicans were on a fishing expedition. they kept digging and supporting cases no matter how flimsey or uncredible the people with charges against the clintons were. look at paula jones, she couldn't even identify the presidents naughty bits:p her story kept changing. a total pos money grubber. she deserved the beating tonya harding gave her on tv.

You are just jealous he is making more money than you. He gets for his speeches what others are willing to pay for them. If you don't like it, move to China.

Ha Ha. If that Andy Capp red-nosed fat assed douchebag embarassment to this country p.o.s. ever showed up in a trench the word "frag" would get its original definition back in less than a day.

I can't stop laughing.

I don't think Bush is going to show up in any trenches so you can put the pin back in your granade.

Actually while I have 0 use for Bill Clinton there is precedent for what he is asking for. Both George senior and Ronald Reagan received money to offset legal costs they incurred on the fishing expeditions the other side seemed to enjoy so much.
