They were (and presumably will remain) partners what with the Foundation, but from my perspective (and probably most everyone else's) Bill's profile was way greater than her's (Bill's pretty high profile but I don't think I've seen or read anything from Melinda). I think that wouldn't be a problem with a lot of women, maybe it was for her.

Why not? When you have their kind of money, you can do just about anything. Not like they're stuck in the same trailer together.
"Money can't buy you happiness, but it can help." - Jay Leno

You can do anything you want, and maybe I'm the weirdo, but the last thing I want is to give lawyers money.
I don't give lawyers money, but I figure this: If you are incredibly rich there's usually no way in the world you can get along without supporting lawyers!

I don't think Bill will have trouble finding someone else. He already setup an Onlyfans.

Yeah.....if I start a company, it will be a hardware company that specializes in massive computers. I'll call it HUGEHARD.

All my ad campaigns will follow a successful marketing format similar to what was used for Fight Milk!

So we've read in the last day or two about Bill's cheating on his wife so I wonder if it would be a bit awkward for him or anyone at a charity if he attended a charity event in person. Or if there's little or no stigma to worry about in that situation. With all that money the charities get maybe everyone just acts normal and pleased. Or maybe I'm making a fuss over nothing.

It's rich people.

Find me a notable rich person who hasn't married twice 😛

At a certain point it seems like they say "Christ, is this bitch really worth it?" Same goes for the likes of rich females - e.g. Britney Spears. Didn't she have to pay alimony to Kevin Federline or am I thinking of someone else?

I saw a TED Talk by Monica Lewinsky that changed my perspective on things. People are people. People make mistakes. Unfortunately, those mistakes are amplified a thousand times over thanks to the Internet & then stick around forever as memes. Monica Lewinsky was pretty much the first person to be cyberbullied on a global scale, instantly, overnight, which is never really thought about after the fact, and is something that has led to so much pressure & depression & negative feelings that people kill themselves over it. The modern statistics on suicide are pretty crazy: students who are bullied in-person or online are twice as likely to attempt suicide, and since 2008, suicide attempts among kids has nearly doubled, which makes suicide, insanely, the second leading cause of death for people between 10 to 34 years old.

People are also really casual about making fun of mental health issues. Case in point, the recent "Free Britney" movement for Britney Spears. A decade or two ago, she was apparently dealing with not being able to see her kids due to custody issues, dealing with anxiety, etc. & ended up shaving her head & having a meltdown. And every late-night host & comedian couldn't wait to make fun of her. Doesn't matter how rich or famous you are, you're still a human being at the end of the day, and no one likes to get targeted by negative media.

In the nerd world, Notch of Minecraft fame made billions & ended up getting super depressed because he lost his coworkers, his friends, and even his dating opportunities in terms of more easily finding a real connection with someone. People instantly jump to the money argument, as if true loneliness & depression can simply be cured by cash, and there were no shortage of articles making fun of his situation simply because he was a billionaire. There's a reason why so many celebrities, from actors to musicians, struggle with things like death by overdose...being rich & famous certainly adds a buffer to the human condition, but at the end of the day, you're still a human being struggling with life like anyone else. Notch's tweets at the time are worth reading through:

The underwear model guy from the Prison Break show gained a bunch of weight due to private depression & got roasted in the media. His response on social media is pretty awesome: (scroll down)

As far as charities go, anyone with half a brain would be wise to be respectful about not biting the hand that feeds them. Plus, as Monica Lewinsky pointed out, a lot of people make mistakes. People sleeping with their boss isn't exactly unheard of. But now we live in a time where a million people can endlessly attack you online within minutes. Imagine that kind of pressure on you over something dumb you'd done. I've made tons of stupid mistakes in my life & thankfully there was no social media or HD camera phones floating around to put it on the Internet forever. I don't even know how you'd live with that constant barrage of negativity all the time. Which is probably why a lot of people commit suicide, shave their heads, have mental breakdowns, go into hiding, become anti-social, drink themselves silly, overdose, binge-eat, and find other ways to cope with all of those bad feelings over mistakes made public & cemented into the public consciousness forever.

Anyway, it's kind of a scary time to be a human being who makes mistakes in the world, especially if you're in the public eye. That's not justifying the behavior itself at all, but man, the cyber Eye of Sauron these days is a pretty nasty spotlight to be in. Remember when CNN mis-identified Ryan Lanza as the shooter & not his brother?

The combination of the anonymity provided the Internet, the volume of bored, actively negative people on the Internet, and the number of news outlets looking for headlines that will sell makes me hope that I never get famous for anything ever lol. What a mess. I'm not excusing bad moral behavior, but man, you can get roasted forever these days!

Its either for tax / financial reasons or after being with his BS for 30 years she cant stand the new bill
