BiL has Brain Tumor!

So we got a call last night, and come to hear some pretty bad news.
My BiL goes to doctor because of a massive headache.
Ends up taking a ride in an ambulance to a hospital to get a brain tumor operated on this afternoon.
He's 30 years old, and an ex-ranger been to Iraq/Afg. 3x.
Also he has 2 kids under 3year old....

LIfe just has a way of changing your priorites in an instant!
Keep him in ur prayers, will keep you posted

I dunno, those docs seem awfully quick to operate if you ask me. I'd get a second opinion if it's not too late...
here's to hoping for the obligatory "it's not a tooomaaa" line.

wow

i remember a girl i went to high school with. they found a tumor in her brain when she was 15 or 16 or so.

i hope your BiL fares well and recovers quickly

Sometimes you can't wait because the tumor could cause permanent damage if not taken out immediately.

What exactly happened? Had he any signs or symptoms before? Or was it all of a sudden at once?

I'm guessing he had a headache so bad that he couldn't handle the pain?

Good luck to him!

You know, I feel and "pray" for you and him. I have been kindof scared/paranoid for some time that I had something like a tumor for quite a while up until about two years ago. I ended up passing out in the middle of the street one day (trying to get in my car, not driving), which was the breaking point for me to go and get checked out. An MRI later, with what they thought might be an aneurysm turning out not to be, my head is clean. Still doesn't explain the constant migraines I get, but at least I hope my head ain't gonna asplode.

 and hope for the best.

My now ex's father had had a period where because of the tech bubble burst he had been laid off from two high paying jobs, and almost ended up losing his home. While he was unemployed he started getting massive signs of depression, and so they just sent him in for therapy sessions and the such. After about a month of seeing him, his psychiatrist asked him to get an MRI done, and sure enough his "depression" was actually the sideeffects of a brain tumor. He died just 2 months later, mainly because they caught it so late.

Best of luck to you and your family, I know what you are going through.

You've all had a really rough weekend, and lots of us are hoping for the best for BiL. When you can, let us know how the surgery etc went.

I was also saddened this weekend to hear that nearly the same thing happened to my cousin. He was experiencing headaches and finally went to the doctor. They found a tumor in the front of his brain just between the hemispheres. He is scheduling surgery some time this week.
