EUGENE, Ore. - Sandy McMillin and her sister Karla Vogt went to Walmart on Sunday to buy sour cream, chips and coffee creamer.

The temperature that day hit 90 degrees, so McMillin (at right) threw on a turquoise bikini and a pair of shorts.

She said five minutes into her shopping trip while in the clothing aisle, a store employee told her to put on a shirt or leave, saying the swimsuit violated health codes.

"I was horrified," McMillin told KVAL News. "I am embarrassed."

"We just walked in, straight over to the clothing," Vogt said. "It's wrong. If you don't like the way someone looks, don't look at them."

McMillin said employees then escorted her and her sister out of the store.

"I hadn't done anything obnoxious or outlandish," McMillin said.

To be fair, KVAL News contacted Walmart to get their side of the story.

Walmart spokeswoman Ashley Hardie told KVAL News that McMillin has it all wrong.

Hardie said customers complained and McMillin verbally abused people in the store. But Hardie said McMillin was was never escorted outside.

"We can understand her frustration. It was not our intent to offend the customer, and we have apologized to her," Hardie said. "We have also reinforced with our associates our expectations of how to handle these matters."

McMillin said that is not good enough and that she will never shop at Walmart again.

Woe is you, 90 degrees. Thats a scorcher . . . 😛

Yeah, she soooo doesn't look like the kind of lady who would talk shit to someone complaining about her attire. 🙄

Had to take a good look, it's a woman with short hair and tattoos
.
I would have complained too, what an eyesore. D:

Harsh comment left on the story at the OP's link, from someone who apparently knows this woman personally, invoking what reads like he woman's dead husband's memory:

"Sandy McMillan is everything you see in the pics. She is obnoxious and rude and loud. That shaved head is a real sign that she needs more help than she is asking for. She is getting all the attention she has wanted (for years) and no doubt feels like she's right. She must have magical mirrors at home to think she is acceptable anywhere like that. Sandy go home and get your biker clothes back on. You are embarrasing to look at. You are teaching your sister Carla to do things the wrong way. Just remember Jim would be embarassed too. You still carry his name."

I'll play devils advocate here. As much as I don't want to look at that grotesque woman in a bikini we all know the same thing wouldn't have happened if is were some hottie 10/10 doing the same thing.

Well she looks the type to argue with other people in the store. And throwing someone out of the store for wearing a bikini on a hot day would just be horrible customer service, no mater how ugly she is. So I'm inclined to believe Wallmart on this one.

so who called the news station??? just a attention getting stunt and to get on peopleofwalmrt.com

in dont care if it is a scorching 90 degrees outside. have some semblance of class when in pubic and it doenst matter if its a troll in the news story or a playboy bunny.

Eeeewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just threw up in my mouth. D:

almost as bad as a fat chick wearing tight pants and midriff top doing the muffin-top thing while sporting a tramp stamp*

* I actually saw this 5 years ago in our downtown. D:

I'm almost afraid to ask, but my curiosity has gotten the best of me... what, pray tell, was she wearing before she "threw that on?"

True. Their "Health codes" claim is also a bunch of BS. I wouldn't want to see that either, but that's one of the reasons why I don't go to Walmart.
