It's Ryan Leech, one of the best trials riders in the world. This is what he makes his living doing.

These trials riders always impress me. How in the heck does he get the bike to jump 5-6 feet w/o clipless pedals? Either the bike is feather light or he's a bodybuilder.

At first I thought "I can do that.", then I realized that he didn't fall face first down the stairs like I would have.

Neither. Trials bikes (or, as in this case, mountain bikes set up for trials) have to be pretty burly. That bike probably weighs at least 25 pounds, no featherweight. He's not built like a bodybuilder, and that kind of bulk would, if anything, inhibit his agility. It's all about weight transfer and balance.
