The US is losing the popularity war in Iraq. We need to step up mass propangda machine and win the Iraqi's over. War isn't all about fighting with weapons, it's about winning the civilians over also. We need to control the media, newspapers, tv, radio, etc, to air pro-American propangda. Anti-American media can still exist, but the market needs to be flooded with pro-American stuff too. Win the Iraqi's over!!!!

Yeah, things aren't really looking good for us there... but that's to be expected, really. This current situaiton about the torturing serious undermines our efforts to win the people over as well.

Wow, I never thought of that before. Iraqi's as Scots and Americans as British. Hmmmmm....that's amazing whirlwind of a thought. But that theory doesn't hold up, because the Americans are trying to GIVE the Iraqi's freedom, while the Iraqi's keep resisting.

they don't want our supposed "freedom" any more than the Scots wanted the the British crown telling them what freedoms they had, so the comparison is very valid.

I will never forget the prescient interview of an Iraqi man shortly after the invasion/liberation: his comments were, essentially, "first we will get rid of saddam, then we will get rid of you". he knew it then and most of us still don't know it now.
