Doom 3

Deus Ex: Invisible War... I absolutely love how they take a PC hit and turn it into a console piece of crap.. and then port it over to the PC leaving all the sh!tty console menus and controls. Why the fvck would I want to play an FPS that feels like it should be controlled with an xbox controller on a much superior PC???

Oh ya.. they also did that with Tom Clancy's Chaos Theory

Total Annihilation: Kingdoms.

Total Annihilation is one of the best games I have ever played. I have played it close to 1000 times, and even though it's 8 or 9 years old, I still have fun playing it. It is still more fun then any other RTS game out there for me.

Then Kingdoms came out, I figured it would take the ideas from Total Annihilation to the next level, but instead they scaled down the game, made it less complex, they ruined the whole idea of it. It was very depressing when it came out and sucked so horribly. I tried to play kingdoms a couple more times, however, I just didn't like it at all.

someone from FS/t sold me that for 5 bucks shipped

wasnt worth it. TA is still awesomeish

you are 300% correct sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Revenant (awesome game + FX, too bad about the save system (too forever to load + save)

Half Life 2
Doom3
Both were Tech demos.

Fallout: Brotherhood of steel. Used the same name and engine of the Fallout series without being actually good.

That's a pretty notable one too. I actually kinda liked the game, but it was nothing like the first Unreal, which was very disappointing. It just seemed like a bunch of disjointed missions. Although the graphics were very nice for its time. :p

But yeah, Daikatana is the biggest one I think. I vividly remember all the press and hype that built up before that game, and this was like 7 years ago. Also, if Duke Nukem Forever ever comes out, that may be near the top of the list as well. :p

I've never seen any other game generate the volume of bitterness that it did.

I believe it was actually more like a couple of weeks.

now considering the amount of anticipation surrounding C&C: Tiberian Sun, THAT was a huge disappointment. I also never liked Super Mario Brothers 2, , Mortal Kombat 3, and the rest of the stuff that has been named in this thread.

Definately a dissapointment. I waited for it for a long time (as you may be able to tell from my screen name).

Part of the problem was gameplay. It was damn slow. I wonder if a booted it up on a current computer how it would run.

Pretty well. I didn't play it when it first came out, but on my current PC it's smooth and I haven't gotten that far into it (distracted by newer games) but it doesn't seem too bad.
