Biggest check you've ever written?

Just wrote a check to pay off this month's credit card bill... $1,224.55. Ugh. Yesterday I wrote a check to my roommate for rent & utilities... $650. Double ugh.

What's the largest amount you've ever written on a single check?

I remember almost passing out when I saw my parents write a check to my school to pay for my yearly tuition... $34,500.00. That's more than I make working one full year now... 🙁

largest check ever? That is not including signing away on loans on cars/house? Hmm....I think it was $2,950. That was for 1 semester worth of housing my first semester at wvu. That was also almost the whole amount of my savings that took 2 years to generate.

Almost cried....

Strike that...even larger check was $5,800. That was when i transfered balances between cards a number of months back. Boy was it sweet to see that money in my checking account, and I did pause thinking of things I could do with it before I signed it over to pay off the old card. Vegas anyone?

$1,000 down payment on my car... going to be buying a house soon so im not looking forward to writing that check

$1150 for my first month's rent and a $450 security deposit when I first moved into an apartment a couple years back. I paid $2500 for my car, but that was in cash. 🙂

I've written a $2000 check for a TV set. Was 18 at the time.

The 'rents wrote a $48,000 check for their Vette. Came from a personal checking acc't too. 🙂
