Bigger losers among the fauxball players

Football season is around the corner, and with that comes the non-stop cooler talk about fantasy football, and all those hours in front of the TV playing Madden...who are the bigger losers out there?

Madden requires actual skill, but generally it's played against a computer or online which makes it a rather anti-social sport..whereas fantasy leagues are created among friends and coworkers, but is nothing more than checking off names off a list.

Fantasy Football is a lot like picking stocks. There are breakouts and busts. You have to know when to sell high and when to buy low. It's definitely a skill to have a good team, but it can easily be compromised or boosted with luck.

I made $500 the last two years in my league, and had fun doing it. If that makes me a loser, then I'll wear the crown with pride.

I like Fantasy Football because it is a fun way to keep a wider interest in the NFL beyond just the couple of teams I like (Falcons, Bears, Steelers). I only do one FF league with a small group of friends and it is for bragging rights. Not for money.

Never really got into Madden. I prefer NCAA though it has been crappy the last couple of years (this year's is miles better but has some incomprehensible bugs).
