BIGG phones and people who love them

Anyone has a +6in phone here? Which one do you have? Which one are you planning on getting?

I currently have the huawei mate7 and anticipating the mate8 max or even the xperia z6 ultra (rumor) if sony pull their heads out of their asses and give it a bigger battery than the awful Z Ultra.

Actually since I moved to Marshmallow my battery life has been excellent.

Was rocking a galaxy tab 4 7 for a month. Used Google hangouts for phone calls. Had a Bluetooth earpiece.

Nexus 6 now, battery life isn't bad, although I'm playing catch up with a new phone, data high, battery is hit hard.

I don't want an expensive device, so I'm looking for something such as LG G4 Stylus or a Nexus 6.

Samsung has had a couple of tablets in Europe that could be flashed into a cell phone.

I think there's a significant market for larger phones, I think one of the issues is that the manufacturers charge an insane markup on phones VS tablets, they'd look bad...

Below your spec, but got a nexus 5x a week ago and it seems huge! Wikipedia says 5.2 inch...

And OMG it really hard to hit icons on the top, top right and right edge of the screen! How do people use this thing one handed? I've almost dropped it several times doing weird gymnastics sliding the phone in my hand to tap the delete icon in gmail (and others). I've stacked most used apps on the left half of the screen so that helps some, but so many apps have functions along the top..

This is one of the things Samsung has figured out, and I was hoping might be doable on the Nexus 6P eventually. Samsung has a one hand feature where you swipe the screen from the edge, to the center, and back to the edge again and it shrinks the screen down to the bottom right (or left) side of the screen. So you can reach into the far corner for those buttons (because they're now close to the center of the actual screen) then go back to fullscreen. Very useful on the Note line especially.

Samsung has a one hand feature where you swipe the screen from the edge, to the center, and back to the edge again and it shrinks the screen down to the bottom right (or left) side of the screen. I think that's the same even on my galaxy note2 but i never thought it was quite useful. Sometimes i'll just end up using my other hand and swipe it from the edge and whatnot. I still think the iphone6+ has the best implementation for big screen so far, and that's the double-tap on the round button drops the screen down to half the size. As more phablets become prevalent, im sure one-handed control will improve.

i have the nexus 6, love it. i do miss the bells and whistles of my old note 3 once in a while tho. i can usually reach the opposite corner, sometimes ill just use the left hand instead. i dont have too much issue with battery life unless im playing games on it a lot. for regular work use, ive had it last all day and into the next easily

A co-worker has a ZUltra. I laugh every time I see it. Too small for a tablet and too big for a phone. Plus the specs are mediocre at best.

I was going to say this as well. The battery life was pretty bad at first (usually less than 10% coming home from work), but with 6.0 I'm usually at 40-50% when I'm headed home.

You definitely adapt quickly. I had a 5 before I went to the 6. And while I don't deny its largeness, it seems just right to me.

Nice! I was heavily leaning toward the p8max as well but it doesn't have US LTE support (at least not for tmo, I don't think?) and basically has the same internals as my mate7. You can't fit it in your pocket, right?

The Nexus 6 when it was on sale for $200 Black Friday night on Amazon was the single best phone deal for the PC tinkerer type of user that exists out there. Even at the $300 price point the phone is just wonderful.

Root it, install a custom ROM like chroma install a slimmed down version of GAPPS so you have even less useless apps installed on your phone, use swipe navigation to increase screen real estate and eliminate static menus that burn into the screen, install themes, ad blocking, and more... don't let the lack of a replaceable battery and SD card slot sway you.. this thing has nearly double the battery life my S4 Active had, partly in thanks to the new version of android... it's just a wonderful phone.. the best bang for the buck phone on the market right now. Great power. Nice screen size, good colors (once calibrated)... camera does the job.

I have a Nexus 6P right now, and coming from a Galaxy S3 this phone is massive. I definitely wouldn't want a bigger phone, and really wish this one was smaller.

It'll shrink to whatever side you did the gesture. So if you're using your right thumb and do the swipe to center and back from the right edge of the screen, it'll shrink to the bottom right. If you start from the left edge it'll shrink to the bottom left. It shrinks the whole screen, and you can adjust how big the screen is when it shrinks. Looks like this:
