This isn't anything new and has been done before. The Patterson footage is really interesting. Some hollywood special effects experts have laughed at it, other equally respectable experts have said that it's really good. Some experts in biomechanics have stated that it would be impossible for a human to walk like that, given the ratio of torso to leg to arm lengths, others have disagreed. The debate keeps it interesting at the very least.

yeah, especially when you look at the date-stamp of that film...1967.

Back then...to recreate a monster suit like that would have been a money maker. Nobody could touch it...and honestly I have yet to see anyone touch it today. The entire package of hair, movement, speed, color, and fluidness, that is what makes this a difficult FX to recreate.

The guy who filmed it took the secret to his grave....unfortunately.
