Big War Coming Soon

This executive order allows Trump to call any inactive or retired member of any branch in the military back into active duty service. There is only one possible reason to do this, and that is if there is a big war coming and Trump needs to be able to call on as many soldiers as possible. It also will help Trump quash dissent because he can now bring any former military back on active duty and suddenly their options for criticizing him are drastically reduced because there are again subject to the UCMJ

Bush did something similar in that he allowed for members to have their enlistments extended indefinitely. This goes even further.

Yeah this one is a bit foreboding in it's intent. Calling up retired military at whim? Hmmmmmm.....

From discussion on reddit it looks like President has always had that power. The only difference with this EO is that other people in the administration can do the same. Not an expert on these legal matters, but FWIW.

If they need to call up a whole ton of retired military personnel then it will help to have the heads of the departments deputized with the same powers as Trump "already had"... although I think it is highly debatable that he had those powers over retired personnel in the first place. They have never been used AFAIK.

This sounds like "Dog Brain" Mattis has convinced Trump to start Korean War 2. Boy am I glad that we have so many generals, they are so great. So peaceful, the generals.... until they attack.

Hey maybe you will be drafted!

This kind of stuff happens every time an administration updates one of these EOs. People freaked at GW and Obama over similar military related executive orders. This is actually pretty standard housekeeping by any administration regardless of party.

If the OP wasn't a Russian troll he would know something about how the government works.

After I retired from the military, I was led to believe that I would not be subject to recall upon attaining the age of 65. Well, I'm comfortably over that so I wonder if that rule still holds.

I mean at my age, I can still shoot as well as I did back in the day, (vision holding steady at 20/40) but hell if I'm gonna ground pound uphill with a 100+ lb. load on my back on a daily basis. May as well fight Trump's war from a desk with the latest gaming rig that good 'ol Uncle Sam is willing to requisition for me.

I recall way back then when I had just sewn my E5 stripes on, I won our Battalion Turkey Shoot and that gave me the inside track on being picked as the driver/body guard for our Battalion Cmdr. Talk about *Suh-weeeeeet* duty. Used to crack me up big time whenever I had to call a room full of brass to attention at briefings as I opened and held the door open for my boss. He told me to make sure everyone in the room could hear me and of course I obliged. lol

If you can sit at a desk with 20/40 uncorrected vision and play video games, then you can pilot a drone.

Get packing, soldier. You ship off to Kunsan on monday.

FIVR posts some of the most ignorant shit around here, that's saying something.

Well, I'm sorry my contributions don't meet with your discerning taste for intelligent discussion. The feeling is not mutual. I thoroughly enjoy your shitty trolling of myself and others.

Keep up the good work

Hell yeah, now all I need is permission from my wifey who has been a disgruntled gaming widow from the day we got hitched up.

I have to admit though that I do get a little dizzy messing around with flight sims. It gets to the point where I start seeing double and then that 12 pack of Heinie's that I usually chug down while I'm in-game wants to exit quickie-quickie at those various points of least resistance. 😉

I used to set up these LAN games at our local Rec Center and when it came to flight sims, the rule was if you weren't already getting a buzz and red eyed at the start, then you wouldn't qualify to play.

Frick'in awesome time was had by all.

Maybe Trump wants Kim to catch wind of this as a manipulation more so than anything else. There's no telling what actually goes through his mind except that he wants to be even richer than he already is and wants to put his hands on every woman he sees.

More and more evidence keeps piling up that we are about to go to war. You don't recall 1000+ military pilots back into service unless you are planning on running combat operations involving hundreds of aircraft for multiple days or weeks at a time. Then we have this news appearing last week... which I have also never seen before.

I guess the idiots at the Pentagon have started to drink their own Korean war Koolaid and really do believe that we can conduct a "first strike" without causing a world war. They are wrong, and many thousands of americans will die. Perhaps even millions will die.

If we are lucky, he will only nuke Seol and Japan and we will only Nuke North Korea. IF WE ARE LUCKY

Just recently they did an intelligence assessment which said that North Korea actually does have the ability to miniaturize a warhead and possibly has up to 10 Nuclear ICBMs. They also said that he had anywhere from 60-80 Nuclear warheads.

If that assessment is accurate then we can expect Kim Jong Un to make good on his threats to "train the Dotard with fire". If he launches 10 nukes at japan it will kill millions of Japanese and thousands of Americans.

Cannon fodder comes in all different shapes and ages.

The minute he attacks a population center his own cities will get the full Monty.

The moment he thinks we are attacking him, he will know he is going to die anyway and he will attack populations centers. That's the problem with a "first strike"... he has NOTHING to lose from nuking Japan, South Korea and possibly Hawaii.

Well then before we let that happen let's nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Congratulations. You just made an argument for taking him out immediately.
