Over Labor Day weekend I somehow injured the inside of my right foot. There's not much pain but it has limited the movement of my big toe, and there's a noticable "creaking" feeling when I try to flex it up or down now, especially when flexing up. I'm still able to walk on it, play basketball at the gym, etc.. but the feeling/creaking isn't going away even though the pain has gotten milder then what it was.

I did a little MD research online and found that Hallux Rigidius was the closest diagnosis I could come up wth. Does anybody deal with this issue or have dealt with something similar? I'm so busy with work and travel it would be hard for me to see a doctor right now.

Tendinitis.

The only thing Ive ever found to help is resting the body part.

You probably sprained it and now it has some residual inflammation that is limiting the the motion. Take some NSAIDs, rest it. It'll be fine.

It's either that or toe cancer

Doesnt sound like classic gout unless OP has ridiculous pain tolerance

lol thanks for the mixture of funny and serious replies. I'm thinking it's a sprain from boogie boarding on Sunday. I know I tweaked my right foot a bit jumping a wave but it didn't feel like a big deal at all. Will stay off it best I can over the weekend and take some NSAIDs but no it doesn't hurt much at all, just feels like my toe is in sand when I move it.
