Big Problem

Hi I was running Windows 2000 sp4 on a P4 comp with a 160 gb boot hd and a 300gb backup hd. Last night I was checking out the RAID setup in the bios. I put the two HD's on RAID 0 and pressed on create array and then it said it would delete both HD's if I did so and then I pressed "N" for no and it went back to the program...I just checked a few more settings and then turned off the comp.

Now when I started the comp in the morning it won't boot. I tried to reinstall Windows, but Windows can't find any HD's even though the BIOS shows both HD's being present. It won't install windows because no hardware to install it is found. I ran spinrite and it shows both HD's as empty, my OS and my backup HD. How did this happen....I am very certain they I said no when the RAID program asked to create arrays...then I turned off the comp after checking a few more settings in the program.

Is there anyway of getting the data back from the HD's or is it all gone? Also how can I get my HD to be back to normal again so that I can reinstall Windows on there. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks.

Did you change the settings in your BIOS back to SATA/IDE mode? My ASUS boards that have on board RAID controllers need to be set in the BIOS to RAID mode before I can enter the RAID settings the way you describe.

Yes I changed those settings from IDE to RAID a few days ago..and the computer was working fine with the BIOS saying RAID. After It stopped working I changed the setting back from RAID to IDE and it still doesn't work.
