Big problem with star wars!

Yes it's true - a big problem. Jedi Knights can move much faster than humans. You can see an example of their force-run near the beginning of EP1. So my question is: Why do they wield their lightsabers as fast as a normal joe? You'd think that with the force they couldmove them faster so that you would not even really be able to tell the movement; it would just be a blur when two people are fighting.

Sure it would harder/impossible to follow for us watching but I'd like to see a couple of high-end force people get it on and go crazy like this. Just nutty, crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<< It would be pretty cool.

You never know what you might see in Episode II or III.
>>

it sounds like it would be like the matrix... which would be really cool. catguts cool.

well, if both Jedi's were going superfast, it would be impossible for us to see, so they slow it down to normal speed. Therefore, I dont see any reason why they dont fight at superspeed all the time, without us knowing.

haha

George lucas is just too lazy i guess

And you do see a sh!tload of jedi in ATOC single handedly defending the republic against the trade fed because they dont support cloning
Ironically, the clones end up saving hte jedi

I don't buy it - especially since you can tell by visual cues that the rest of the world is running at normal time.

That's like asking why are all the alien races in Star Trek humanoid looking?

answer: CAUSE THE FREAKING ACTORS ARE HUMANS!!!

That would be pretty cool... kinda like how the fights are handled in Dragon Ball Z. You'd miss out on a lot of the light show though. All you's see would be when the jedi actually hit each others sabers and they came to a complete stop for a second.

Speaking of Star Wars, I got my tickets today.... kick @$$!! gonna watch it Saturday the 18th....couldn't get off work Thursday or Friday, damn inspections!!!

Hell yeah - the motion could even go super slow for the short periods of time that major things in the fight happen like somebody getting cut. I think that done well it could give an incredible impression of the speed that they are fighting at and make it seem even more impressive. We all know how cool the slowdown in matrix was and lots of action movies are doing that now (I'm not saying to do a 360 while the slow motion is happening, because that is classic matrix).

<< maybe the physical properties of a lightsaber prevent it from being weilded that fast then. >>

Now that's a bit more feasible but I think that since they are made up of light beams it's probably not the reason 😉

Think logically (haha), they have psychic powers and know the future. What's the point of moving faster when you know the precise moment in time that something is going to occur? 😉

That Matrix stuff.... I think it'd resemble too much of The Matrix... Not every good action movie should have to follow the example... Having said that though, I think I could whup Luke or Vader's asses, having watched them sword fight...

I would probably chop off my own leg if I had a 2 sided light saber like Maul.

Anyone could kill a Jedi. All you'd need is a shotgun. I dont think they could block all the pellets with a light saber.

They DO move fast.

They use the force to peer slightly into the future at all times, IIRC, and they predict EXACTLY where the blaster bolts/what have you are going to go to and they move their sabers force-fast enough to deflect them. 🙂

Yes, I'm a nerd...

You're right. They'd use the force to push the pellets right back at you. 🙂

If they tried to turn the light sabre fights into Matrix style stuff, I think it would be gay. Matrix style has been done. Yeah, it's pretty cool, but it's got nothing on the Obi-Wan - Maul fight at the end of EP1. 🙂

Oh and Skoorb you _didn't_ just find an inconsistency in a sci-fi movie did you?! You should become a movie critic, seriously.
