big problem with NAT

sup all.. I was trying to play in gameranger a p2p game... algo other p2p games like supcom in their matchmaking services... but specially gameranger give me a clue about this...

not being able to connect to everyone... I can connect to some people... but others doesnt connect at all...

I tried...

Port Forwarding
Firewall Disabling
DMZing to my computer
Trying different oses like vista, xp, u know....
Reinstalling os.. games... reset-ing modem... and reconfig...
Calling ISP (good for getting enrage)...
Having one permanent IP for my computer the .64 one lol

What really bothers me is that gameranger tell me about symmetric NAT... like being symmetric is troublesome... any idea of how to change this or make me connect to everyone... (by the way I ask the people that I cant connect to, and they said everything is fine in their side.. only me is unreachable... but I have a big bunch I cant connect to them... making playing imposible)

thx

I was searching and the bright idea I got was to change the symmetric type of NAT into a Cone one... but how???

Connect your PC straight to the modem and take the router out of the equation. That way you can find out if it's ISP or Router.
