Big problem with Logitech wireless mouse

I am currently trying to fix a problem with a logitech "iTouch" optical wireless mouse. The mouse just dies every 5 seconds or so. I am not sure if a specific system event is triggering this, but it seems to always happen when a new web page loads. Also, I am fairly sure it's not the reciever, since the iTouch keyboard is going through it also, and I don't think it's the USB port, since there are two different USB controllers on this computer and it occurs on both.

I haven't tried installing the Logitech software yet, because it just looks like a bunch of useless mouse helper apps and no drivers, but if anyone has any expirence with this software, do you think it would help?

Thanks in advance,

-Chu

are u using the cordless freedom optical ?

also, try using the ps/2 ports and see if u still have that problem

It's called the "iTouch Freedom Cordless Optical" It's the keyboard/mouse combo that's $99.99 retail. It's black/blu plastic with a bunch of those internet/multimedia buttons on it that noone ever uses.

Oh, same problem occurs with either USB controller (built into motherboard and seperate card) and the ps/2 port.

i installed the drivers and both the keyboard and mouse started to function properly. download the newest drivers from logitech for the ones that came on the cd are flawed from the start. make sure the receiver is equidistant from both the mouse and keyboard because if the keyboard is closer to the receiver.. those few inches that the mouse is away from the receiver may be the difference to having a constant working mouse.
