I just install my new ati AWI 9800. Hearing a beep and dead .
I got no ideal what is going on . My system used to working great with a antec true power 430W . CPU AMD 2600@ 3200+ and a nvidea video card . I change the power supply with ati 9800 and the sysem boot up fine ( PS is a enermax 350W) . So i believe he antec PS 430W has some problem . I ran to local store and get a new antec 430W . Install it and same thing happen . Just the beep and dead . So I think there is a conflict between ati 9800, shuttle mobo and PS antec . Give me the best solution . please
It could be the shuttle mobo

did you remove all your nividia drivers completely before installing the 9800?

have you tested the 9800 in another system?

I power up with out any attached components . just video card, mobo, ram and cpu . I don't think driver issue . because my HD is not attach . i test the ati 9800 with my intel system . it boot up fine

That is the problem . If I connect the 12v connector . It won't boot . Last night i did some research about shuttle system . Some guy said they are having same problem with difference shuttle mobo or barebone . They have to remove the 12v pins, power up and attach the pins when it power up . I did the same and seem like it work . But seem like crazy to open the case every time you boot it up . I read some guy are making a swicth . It a great ideal . But i prefer to sovle the problem completely. I flash the latest bios last night . But no luck at all
But this is bother me that the enermax 350 is working fine . I don't want to use 350 w in my system that is why make me crazy . I think i will get anoher mobo like abit or asus . Let see if the problem is happen againe

Change mobo to gigabyte ga-7n400 . Problem solve but cost me $100 for the mobo. Must be the shuttle problem

Any chance for a link where they are discussing that problem? I have 3 new shuttle systems with that exact problem. I tried the trick you listed and it worked. But thought maybe they may have found a real solution.

TIA!
