Big Problem w/ Computer Resetting

Hi again everyone,
I have been having the most annoying issues with my computer rebooting while I'm playing a game. I was playing World of Warcraft today and the thing rebooted while I was deep in a dungeon that I wasted hours to get to. It had been doing this every now and then, at very annoying times. Well, this time I was so angry at it that I kicked my machine.
The result of this is that now when I start up my system, it has me select whether I want Safe mode or normal mode, and when I choose a mode it boots up the Windows XP screen and then reboots and starts all over again.

Please help me. I feel like I am going to throw this thing out the window and revert myself back to the stone age.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone has had this type of problem where a component might be loose or something. Thats what I'm guessing it is. It seems like a CPU overheat when it resets like that but I'm sure that the temps are OK on both my mobo and CPU.

heh, i understand the kicking
after the forcefull application of a semi-solid body to the exterior of the case, did you open it up and make sure you didn't knock anything loose?
next, have you tried a format and clean install of windows?
Sounds like this is an on-going problem, and those are the worst. Next, I'd say try and get your hands on some spare hardware. A new processor, video card, motherboard, etc. Call your friends, hijack from other systems.
I had a problem a year or so ago, and i spent probably a week of my winter break swapping out components (not all the time, obviously), trying to solve the problem with my computer. Never did completely, and ended up just building a new system at the start of this school year

ok take a breath =) don't kick your comp....

i've had problems like this before with games, it would just restart at random times, update the drivers for your video card, sound card....usually its just a driver issue..go online for the most up to date ones.

Hey all,
I checked everything that could come loose in there and everything is securely in place. Could it be that the CPU isn't set right? If I had to re-seat the CPU that would be a pain in the ass but if it worked and ended this problem I would do it.

If the hard drive was being read from or written too when you kicked it, you likely damaged the hard drive..in any case, list full system specs, and it will be easier to help(link to you rig isn't working).

overheating? If you're using HP ddr, increase voltage. I had a similar problem with a new build that used TCCD ram that required more then base voltage to be stable, even at stock speed.
