BIG PROBLEM: nvidia + vista

hi guys, im just installing a computer with a passive nvidia 8500GT and windows vista 32 ultimate. the thing is that i can install vista perfectly, but after i install the nvidia drivers, system restarts and is about to go to the desktop, the screen goes black....

whats the problem here?

Try rebooting (from the cd) Vista in repair mode and select fix common startup problems. Vista has issues with drivers period. It did this to me with my sound card.

I had a repeatable blue screen with nTune + 7800GT + Vista x64.

But If I don't install nTune, it's fine.

It's not your problem, but it tells me that things are not 100% in Vista.

My guess is that Vista is not detecting the monitor correctly and thus setting it to a mode that your monitor doesn't support. Try to find a driver (INF file) for your monitor. Also, try plugging your monitor into the other port on the video card.
