Big Problem!!! It's either my motherboard or my CPU.

I'm not sure what exactly happened but my pc crashed and when I tried to reboot it, it would just hang right at the start. I have a MSi K7T Pro motherboard and a 750 Tbird. I can't for the life of me figure out whats wrong. The MB does come on and the CPU fan runs and there are a few seconds of hrd disk activity but then nothing, the harddisk read light stays on constant as well as the light on my cd burner, but nothing else. Of the diagnostic LEDs on the motherboard only the second, which is supposed to indicate keyboard initialization goes green. I guess this is a kind of random problem, but I'd appreciate any input you guys can offer. I'm not too sure how to go about diagnosing the problem.

I might take a while to respond to any posts as I have to use a friend's pc in another dorm.

thanks

Could be somethings come lose.

Open it up and make sure you CPU, Ram and PCI cards are seated properly.

<< have you tried clear CMOS then setting back to safe defaults? >>

I wish I could get to my bios screen, but it doesn't get that far. My monitor is on but nothing boots up. I will try reinstaling my pci cards and my video card and see if that helps.

Any other ideas??
