Actually MS *is* fvck-buddies with the gov't. Not Bush and Cheney specifically, but definitely with the DOJ and various LEA's.

The proof is right here on the computer I am typing from. I removed the IE core, and it broke windows functionality.

Not enough that I will put IE back in, mind you, but nonetheless, iirc, this is strictly counter to the terms of the DOJ ruling.

I doubt the entire combined world prints money as fast as these people make it.

Thing is, this is the kind of thing that breaks economies and drives inflation. All the money eventually comes to rest in the single industry, which isn't spending it. Very little money gets back out. In order to allow people to do things like.. EAT, more money gets printed, but it's worth less because there's more of it in total circulation. Eventually, that ends up stashed away and immobile in some industry's "rainy day" fund.

Granted, it's a bit more subtle and dynamic than that, but all other things held constant....
