I stopped in Big Lots today (Las Vegas) and saw what looked like a CH-P1000 charger with 4, 2000 maH NiMH batteries for $19.99. (2 hour charger). There were about 15 units in stock, I'm not sure the deal is everywhere. Looks pretty decent to me....AC and DC adapters supplied....
