Target has a good deal right now... You get a free Mad Catz controller free with an Xbox system. The controller sells for normally $20. So, this is a pretty hot deal. Does anyone know if you can still get a free dvd kit with MIR? If so, where is the form? Do you need to purchase the dvd kit? Or do you send away for it in the mail? Thanks

GameStop.com is giving 30% off any preowned video game or DVD using a special coupon code (definitely a techbargains if you catch my drift). The code expires tomorrow morning so better hurry! Don't know if you can use this on a pre-owned X-Box, but if you can ...

$169.99 - 50.99 (30% off) = $118.99 !!!!

My guess is that you can't use it on hardware though.

Nice idea, but it doesn't work, next time try it first (you don't have to complete an order to find out if it works).

I just went to the aforementioned web site and pressed CTRL-F and searched for "gamestop" ... That should take you right to where you want to be!

SrikanthAG,

It wasn't too hard for you to try it either was it? The code is still good for 30% off pre-owned DVDs and Games, so it should still be useful to some people.

Tony,
I'm still waiting for mine too! I mailed it in Oct 15th......I received the DVD rebate from Microsoft fairly quickly!

PS.....What would have been the easy way to quote tony into this reply....I'm sure I did it the long way....

Actually, according to the BB thread, it's a $30 gift card -- not mail-in rebate. So use it to pick up a 2nd controller. :)

I just picked up an Xbox tonight from Target. Comes with the two games (Sega GT, JSRF), a free second controller (Madcatz). Also purchased the DVD shizznit, which will be free after the MIR. I had been debating between an Xbox and Gamecube for awhile, but all the free stuff made the choice much easier.

Or use the gift card to pick up Halo, which will be $29.99 on regular sale.

Don't forget to also pick up a Gamer's Gift card, put a little value on it, and thenuse the included $5 off coupon to make your effective price for Halo $24.99 (& tax) :D

I was in the Best Buy today in Westwood, California. They had a shrink-wrapped bundle where you could buy Splinter Cell, Unreal Championship and MechAssualt and save $15. Combine this with one of the $5 off Best Buy coupons which were readily available (if still valid) and you can get all three games for $130. Not too bad, and you get all great games from what I hear. Definitely worth considering.

On another note, they had a big xbox bundle that included the JSRF/Sega GT Xbox, one older game (halo, etc.), an extra controller, memory card and Game Doctor for like $330. What a rip off! Who the hell wants a game doctor? You only need one of these if you frequently play frisby with your games or use them as coasters. What a worthless bundle.

Not sure if this is nationwide or not. Like I said, the bundle had definitely been shrink wrapped in the store and had some sticker lettering on it to advertise the discount. So YMMV. Good luck Xbox shoppers.

Yep...but it would be an even better bundle if it included the Live kit instead of Splinter Cell. Not that SC isn't AWESOME!!! But I think the bundle would work better by showcasing the Live Kit and two excellent Live capable games.

Yep...I agree. MUCH better to get it on 11-29, receive the $30 GC, then use it to buy Halo at $29.99
Thanks for the info man!

Yeah, I wondered why they didn't bundle in the live kit instead. That probably would have gotten me to take the bundle home with me. Oh well, more money left to spend on other goodies.

Yup, I got my $50 Gamestop rebate about a week ago. I sent it in right at the beginning of the deal though.
