Check Walmart, I think they are offering the free extra controller there now. Its a Madcatz if I remember correctly. 🙂

got that beta test offer tonight too, guess i shoulddo it, even if it's fr a couple weeks.

any idea if there is a way to put my xbox on my wireless 802.11b network. Iknow there is a way, i read about it, i just cant remember where! Any pointers appreciated.

edit: i always do this, ask a question, and then go to google and answer it myself.... sry

ethernet wireless bridge now just need a hot deal on one

I just got my Beta Kit today, and I also have a wireless network. I purchased a Linksys WET11 Wireless Bridge, and after a little setup, it works fine. If you have a Linksys wireless router/switch, it should just be plug and play. Here is a little info about the Wet11.....Text

Yep...the WET11 seems to be the popular choice right now for wirelessly connecting game consoles.
This diagram, even tho it discusses PS2, is still valid for Xbox.

Best price I've seen has been $96 for the WET11.

Two of my buddies just got the offer last night too.
Sounds like MS is opening the floodgates...tryin to get as many folks signed up as possible so they can tout some decent numbers at the launch.

Not that there's anything wrong with that 😀

I have a SMC Barricade Wireless router. Does anyone know if the WET11 will work with it. I didn't see anything that said it had to be a Linksys wireless router for the WET11 to work. Thanks!

I also have a SMC barricade router, and yes the two can work together. It just requires more setup. I did have to call Linksys technical support to get it done, but they were very helpful. They walked me through the setup in about 15 minutes. Maybe you know more about setting up a wireless network than I do though...🙂

Have the Sega X-Box bundles started to show up at Walmart B&Ms yet? Been waiting patiently to get one of these at my local store (just up my road) to save on shipping (and return/warranty reasons). They keep saying they're coming but nothing yet... 🙁

Why buy the WET11 for $100 when you can buy the D-Link 900AP+ for $100 too? The D-Link 900AP+ is a multifunctional device, one of which includes acting as a Wireless client, and another includes acting as a repeater for another 22Mbps D-Link access point or router!

I have it running right now with my X-Box connected on the first floor and my D-Link DI-614+ (Router) connected on the 3rd floor and I'm getting roughly 6-7Mbps sustained throughput!!! I paid $94.49 for it from Amazon since it showed up in my GoldBox ... Its normally $104.99 shipped through Amazon ...

If you already have an 802.11b router and not an 802.11b+ (22Mbps) router then it may not make a difference to you whether you have the WET11 or the 900AP+ .... But personally it was a great choice, not to mention if I ever need it as an Access point instead I can use it! You *do* need a PC to setup the 900AP+, I don't know what sortof setup is involved with the WET11, but the 900AP+ was not just plug 'n play for me. I had to hard-wire connect it to my router (or you can direct connect to it), and use the web interface to set it up, then bring it downstairs...

Other than that its been working beautifully for me!!

I saw Buffy on the shelf at CompUSA for 29.99 too today.. if anyone cares?

29.99 is the regular retail price for buffy now

This was to be a Dreamcast game... canned at the last minute (along w/ Half-Life). The graphics are pretty much the same as the one for DC (few improvements)... still very much worth $29.99.

Even features the original cast voices (besides for Buffy).

I was "chosen" as well. 😀

Something definitely wrong with that! 😛

Here is a great deal. At CompUsa you will get $5 off any xbox game if it is 44.99 or higher. And you get $15 off if you buy (2) games that is 44.99 or higher. A pretty good deal. I bought Deathrom for $44.99 at comp. Its 49.99 at ebgames and 54.99 at software etc.

Is this walk in or does it work for online orders as well?

^ for smokin' trade-in deal at EB (if you don't wanna mess with the hassle of selling your old stuff on eBay).
Also includes a decent way to score a JSRF/Sega GT 2002 disc for those of us who already own an Xbox (and are interested in those two titles).

Good deal at Target B&M:

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X $10.80 (including tax)
It is marked on the shelf as $19.99, but rang up at $10.80.
Now that THPS4 is out, they must be closing out 2X. But, I still like some of the THPS2-only levels, like the Hangar with the half pipe. So, at $10, this is a steal.
