For the small difference in price I would just get a new one...

I did see where a few placed dropped the used price to 129... at that price I would think about it...

I can't speak about refurbished Xboxes specifically, but...

Refurbished items have already had their problem/weakness discovered and corrected. And they generally come with at least a 90 day warranty in case that problem (or anything else) flares up.

Seems like a good deal to me. 🙂

Then again, when u take into account the price of the 2 games that you get with the new package, and the free DVD kit, it sounds better just waiting until the 15th

And don't forget the awesome "S" controller, in place of the standard controller (ugh).
 
An update for the main post: it looks like the Dead or Alive deal at kbtoys is dead. At least it comes up $49.99 for me.

They're adding 25,000 more people to the beta before the official rollout.

Short survey to fill out to re-enter the pool.

Then look for a confirmation e-mail by Nov. 4, if you happen to be... a chosen one... 😀

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good deals on Nascar Thunder 2003? Reviews seem to be good (if you like that sorta racin'). Hadn't seen any yet, here or in any stores.

yeah! saw wed night that target has it for $29.99 scanned. was waffling about posting it--saw some gamecube titles scanning $29.99 also

Wow, the controller (not the S, but still a Microsoft one) is only $14.95 on Compusa's site. That's the cheapest I've seen it by $10 or so. Also, they have quite a few other games on the site for $14.95. I thought Rallisport at Target for $24.95 was a good deal, now it's not looking so hot. I also bought PGR when I first got my Xbox a couple months ago for $40 used. Ahh, what a sham. 🙂
 
thanks Dan2, just ordered an original XBox from CompUSA for $21 w/ tax + shipping.
The rumor going around is that the original controller is going to be phased out in favor of the type-S.
