Rumors are circling that Toys R Us is going to hold back on releasing there new releases
this week (Rainbow Six 3, notably) until the 31st...thereby delaying some of them for the
Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal. Anyone been to a TRU yet to confirm?

The deal is good through November 1st, so I don't quite see the point. There is a good chance they won't have the games that are released today (Top Spin, Amped 2, Rainbox Six 3, etc.) until Thursday or Friday, but that's just because they're Toys 'R' Us, not because of some conspiracy.

I went in on Sunday to get SSX3 and Crimson Skies. I wanted to wait for R6 3, but the guy working there told me that their return policy was 45 days with receipt and an unopened package. I ended up buying 2 copies od CS and am planning on returning it when R6 3 comes in....

The only thing is it's one rental per month. Still not bad, but might stop some people.

Called my local Toys R Us today and they have Rainbow Six 3 and a couple other new
releases in. I'm headed there in about an hour...now I don't have to wait 2 days (I'm

Toys R Us in Cary, NC didn't have crap. I got a weird vibe from the guy I talked to, they may well be sitting on new releases until the promo is over. Went to try BestBuy to try and PM the deal, the jackass shot me down as soon as he saw the flyer. 'That's a promotion, not a price.' He was damn snooty about it, and after making me wait there for 10 minutes across the counter before even gracing me with his attention I damn near jumped over the counter.

You should be able to gain some satisfaction from the simple fact that he works at Best Buy. The employees there never fail to give me insight through their behavior into why that job is the best they can do for work. I mean, what exactly are the qualifications for working at BB? "Must be able to wear a blue shirt."

Regarding the lack of stock at your local TRU: you could just buy during the sale and exchange later on, when they have what you want. I spoke with several (4) different TRU employees during the sale, and they all said it would be no problem. There is a rumor going around on the forums that you won't be able to exchange the free game, but those same employees told me it didn't matter. In fact, I was able to exchange one that was marked free earlier this week.

I just looked at the BestBuy circular for 11/2. They have the new XSN XBOX titles for $34.99 each (Top Spin, Amped 2, and NFL Fever 2004). Furthermore, if you pickup the XBOX Live Version 3 Starter Kit or the 1 year renewal card, you save $20 instantly on the games.

Great deal for those looking to get these games and those looking to enjoy XBOX Live.

Really? jblacklands post at DVDTalk doesn't mention those games as being on sale next week.

The Toys R Us I went to didn't have the games on display - they were in a back room,
near the checkout area. I had to ask someone if they had RS3 and Crimson Skies in...I even
got Tony Hawk's Underground, although the guy I the phone said "We can't sell it yet..."

So you might need to ask around. Still a good deal - I'll probably return THUG for GTA Combo
Pack or True Crime...haven't decided yet.

Are you sure that Top Spin and Amped 2 are 34.99? I saw the ad too and I could have swore that only the Fever 2004 was 34.99 and the others were 49.99...

No.. just called Best Buy and verified. Top Spin = $49.99. I imagine the other XSN Sports games are the same. However, the coupons I listed above are valid ($10 off). That's the best you're going to get on a new release as hot as these!

I was able to get Best Buy to PM to the "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" deal... I got Crimson Skies, The Simpson's Hit an' Run, and Turtles for $90 thanks to that deal and McDonald's Best Buy bucks... :-D

Toys 'R' Us has the offer in-store and in their weekly ad. They PM'd Toys 'R' Us, not Amazon.

But keep in mind that PMing to Best Buy is a big YMMV. As she was doing the PM for me another associate came over and said "we are not supposed to do that." But they contuinued to do the PM anyway since one person said they would already do it.
