Yes. It's not set up on the Xbox, it's set up on your router and wireless bridge.

Also, one is susceptible to viruses (no active anti-virus progam or firewall like you have on a PC) and hacking when online, right?
No. First off, if you have a broadband connection and a home network you should have a router with a built-in firewall. However, if you choose to run a personal firewall on your PC (and no network firewall,) it doesn't matter, as a standard (non-mod chipped) XBox is not hackable or accessible from the internet or elsewhere.

I'd recommend using the D-Link 900AP+ instead of the WET11. The 900AP+ works at 22Mbps with a compatible wireless router, AND it has 4 additional modes in addition to acting as a wireless client. You need a crossover cable to connect the 900AP+ to the Xbox, but other than that its a much better deal than the WET11 imho. After MIR from Amazon.com: $74.49! Link

Check it out!

I'm using an Apple Airport for wireless, so 22mbps won't do me much good... but since it seems to be cheaper than the WET11, i might go w/ it instead ;)

Cheaper is good, but even better that you are getting a device with MUCH more functionality. Those 4 different modes the D-Link 900AP+ can support is a HUGE feature!

I can't believe I am considering investing another $150-200 in wireless networking equipment just for added convenience in playing Mechassault (the alternative is dragging out a 50' cable). I think I will have to wait and see if there are any more Live games I can't live without.

Tomorrow, January 31, is the last day to get Bloodrayne for $19.99 and get a $20 gift voucher via mail in coupon. Good deal if blood, guts, and body parts is your idea of a fun time.

Okay this may sound like a dumb question since I don't know much abt networking, but what is the benefit of having 4 different operating modes? How are they helpful? I am in the market for a Hub or a router I don't know, just want to share my DSL connection with my other computer and my Xbox. How will the xbox accept wireless signal without an adapter or a wireless card like with the notebooks.

What do you guys recommend for this situation?

Sorry about that folks.
Between work (tax season) and getting ready for the new addition to the family, I haven't had much time to update the thread.
Planning to update tonight tho.

You left out playing MechAssault.
If you're gonna call me names, then the least you can do is QUIT DUCKING ME and come get your ass kicked tonight in some TD, my brother. :p

The 900AP+ would act as the wireless "card" for the Xbox. One of its 5 modes is the ability to be a Wireless -> Ethernet bridge (aka Wireless Client mode), this mode allows you to convert any Cat 5 device into a Wireless device.

The reason the 5 modes is good is because lets say you decide you don't want to have the Xbox hooked up to the wireless network anymore, or your Xbox is now old and you dont even subscribe to Xbox Live anymore. What use is the WET11 to you? It may not be of any use... The 900AP+ is multi-functional, including acting as a wireless repeater with a compatible router. So its usefulness is more extensive than just a wireless connection for your Xbox. The extra uses make it a better buy, especially since its cheaper.

Since reviews are subjective by nature, there is no such thing as an "accurate" review....at least I don't think so.

gamerankings.com. They give you a list so you can judge the game based on multiple reviews instead of one.
