how does this sound for best buy wednesday morning....

Mario Kart DD for $44.99 ($5 off for pre-order?)
Platinum Wavebird $34.99 (or ~29.50 with price match to target)
251 Memory Card $19.95
Gamecube game case for $5.99
= 105.92 ($100.48)
- $5 gamer's coupon
- $20 instant gift card (if i can't use this here i'll use it on the LOTR TTT EE gift set)
= $80.92 ($75.48) + tax if i did the math right in my head

now, i'm assuming you can only use one gamer's coupon per purchase, but is there somewhere else that might be selling viewtiful joe or the turtles game for less than $40 that i might be able to price match to? might be willing to spend a little extra to get either of those games at this point in exchange for the game case....

ps. is the zelda bonus disk going to be up for sale at all? or this all a part of their promotion/special?

one gamer's coupon per >$19.99 item.

so you can use one coupon for double dash
one coupon for the wavebird (use the PM instead if you don't minding working for the extra $0.50, since it's 110% the difference)
one coupon for the memory card

I guess you could try PM'ing and using the coupon.

you still pay full frice for pre-orders, minus the deposit.

and what is this instant gift card you mentioned?

the zelda bonus disk is not going to be for sale through retail channels.

only 2 ways to get zelda bonus disk.. either mailed straight from nintendo or you get it in the gamecube box bundled in... they're not sending out seperate disks to stores.. probably in fear of them selling it...

Is this automatic, or do you have to mention it or present a coupon on something? You have a link to info on this? I can easily spend over $100 on Wednesday.

Another request for a link on that BB promo, I've never heard of it. How does that work?

EDIT: Found it, he's right. Buy $75 worth of game accessories, get a $10 GC. Buy $100, get a $20 GC. Now, if you can use multiple Gamer GC coupons with this... that's hot. :)

Same at Target for the Player's Choice disc. I guess the old $14.99 clearance price is over. ;)

I'm sure they will allow it... It's going to be somewhat more common than you'd expect thnx to the LAN feature :)

nintendo has responded to my email and has said that they will only take one pin for each game.. they even suggested that if i had a friend who was buying duplicates of a different game that we should exchange pins.. i should respond and tell them no one is going to buy duplicates of any of the other games.. haha

Huh. This seems like an attempt to reduce the number of "dealers" that would abuse this promotion and then gouge the price on the disc.

i figure the one per household thing is to keep dealers from gouging the deal..
wouldnt dealers have more than just multiple copies of mario kart though?

Added the following items to main post

Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition Free - Through January 2004. Purchase and register two of the following games and receive a copy of Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition free. Titles include: Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Party 5, 1080 Avalanche, Mario & Luigi Supersaga
Best Buy - $10 GC w\ $75 purchase, $20 GC w\ $100 purchase - For the week of November 16 - 22, purchase $75 worth of video games or video game accessories and receive a $10 giftcard for future purchase. Spend $100, receive a $20 giftcard.

I plan on getting Mario Kart Double Dash and maybe Mario Party 5 today at Best Buy. Get my purchase over a $100 to get a $20 gift card, then register both games and get the Zelda Collector's Edition disc. Having a hard time deciding between going with two Gamecube games or getting Mario Kart and Project Gotham Racing 2 for Xbox.

Why get 2 racing games? Definitely go with the 2 GC games so you can get the free Zelda disc. Just wait a few months for Project Gotham 2 to go down in price or if you have a PS2 wait for GT4 to come out instead.

How does the $5 Gamer's Gift Card at Best Buy work again? I remember it being mentioned in this thread before, but there are just too many posts to go through. Thanks.

Among the many giftcards that Best Buy offers in their stores is a card that comes in a jewel case and is green in color. The ones in my store have an image of a basketball video game on the cards. Look on the back of the jewel case and you should see a $5 off coupon towards games and accessories.

You can either purchase the gift cards and come back later to use the coupon and giftcard to buy your game or tell the clerk that you have two items you would like to ringup on separate transactions. 1st transaction, buy giftcard. 2nd transaction, use giftcard and coupon towards purchase of game.
